What mm do set my camera to when using Tameron 500mm ??

Well, I was using 1/300 shutter speed, handheld, with my hand holding the camera braced on a wall corner and the image was still blurry enough that you couldn't see detail when viewed at 1:1 size on photoshop.

So even though the lens was made for a film camera i would still set the camera to the focal length thats on the lens?

I thought that lenses made for film cameras functioned different with a digital sensor camera?

Like a 50mm lens would be closer to a 32mm on digital, or something like that.

I have a Tameron SP 500mm mirror lens, and i know when you put older lenses without contacts into the camera you must manually select the mm size in the camera when you turn it on.

What setting should i use for my K-x? I know that lenses made for film have a different effect on digital cameras.

This setting affects how the shake reduction works i believe right? Maybe thats why the pictures arnt as sharp as they could be? I have no problems when using auto lenses.

PS. What would i set the camera to when using an old 50mm prime?

One would think a coconut with a shipping label on it would have been better. Hey, they did it on Mythbusters.

Its like a cheap tupperware container.

I actually have a set exactly like these with 3 different sizes and a lazy suzan that sits in the cupboard that you spin to get to the size you want.

Ok, so i ordered a Promaster Spectrum 7 70-210 zoom lens off of Ebay like 3 months ago. Lens looked in good condition from the photos, and the guy was offering free shipping too, total of $15.00.

2 1/2 weeks go buy and the lens still hadn't arrived so i e-mailed the guy and he immediately sent me a refund and told me to let him know if the lens did arrive.

I forgot about it, then today a "thing" comes in the mail. I did not know WTH it was, and i was afraid it contained some kind of liquid or strange material which is why you see the green masking tape ripped away from the bottom.

Why would anyone send something in the mail like this? Yes, this was the ENTIRE package, no box or anything except for some bubble wrap around the lens.

Well, the aperture wheel cracked in half and fell off during delivery so i guess i can use it for spare parts since my other Spectrum 7 is missing the aperture pin.

Manual focusing without a split prism requires practice. Yes there is a focus conformation beep, but its not 100% accurate.

Well, not exactly. From what he said i assumed he was telling me that unless the lenses get scratched or break i would never have to get a stronger perscription lenses, just replace the frame once it gets worn, as long as i do the exercises.

I thought ball heads were more desirable than pan heads? Of course the topic i was reading that in was about Monopods, not Tripods.

Anyway, i can remove the entire head of this tripod and mount it on the underside of the centerpole if i want to get REALLY close to the ground. Also it kind of reminds me of my dads old tripod that i remember him having when i was a child in the 80s with the cork covered quick release instead of your normal rubber nowdays.

Your answer is the only one that answered anything of my question. You are the first person to even HINT that the blinking red light is normal and happens to everyone.

This is all i wanted to know, and perhaps yes, i did not type the question out eloquently enough or specify that i wanted to know if this happened to everyone or just me, i was jumped on and told to read the manual, which doesn't tell me anything i don't already know about the firmware installation.

Since the subject has changed a bit, i will add something my optometrist told me.

"Your eyes are like a muscle, the more you use them the better they will get. If you spend 5-10 minutes a day trying to focus on far objects your eyesight will improve slightly."

He then went on to tell me that i will still need glasses, but my eyes may improve enough that he could lessen my perscription

The Targus TG-P60T is on clearance at my Target for 32.00 dollars, normally 64.99

I got this just because i can move the legs almost completely horizontal.

Check your local target if you want to step up from a basic ultralight tripod.

This is what i bought: Merkury Innovations Targus 60 Tripod 3 Way Panhead Bubble Level Pro Series - ATS - Online Computer Store

EDIT: i just opened it. This thing feels HEAVY. I wont be taking this on any hiking trips, but wind would not move this thing at all.

Info from the manual:
TG-P60T
Max. operating height: 151.5cm / 60"
Min. operation height: 14.0cm / 5.5"
Folded Height: 58.5cm / 23"
Max. tube diameter: 23mm / 0.92"
Net weight: 1.6kg / 3.5lb
Max. load capacity: 2.25kg / 5.0lb

How do i figure out what strength i need? As i said my eyesight is bad, i cannot read a book unless its 6 inches or less than my face without my glasses.

On the other hand, without my glasses i can read all of the states that are printed on the back of the 5 dollar bill.

Just a suggestion.

Play around with the settings, the white balance, the exposure compensation and such with the LiveView so you can see what the changes will do to the photo. Then when you are ready to take the shot switch to the viewfinder for focusing.

Or you could just do it all on the LiveView since it is made for these kind of shots where there is nothing moving at all.

Yes, but i have had experiences with my PC where it said that the device was ejected, but something was still reading to it when i pulled it out, and corrupted my flash drive in the process. I was just worried that something was still being read from the card. I guess nothing to worry about then eh?

27 years old, and i cannot read the top letter of an eye chart without my glasses on. This presents a problem when taking photos since if i take my glasses off EVERYTHING but the bar in the bottom of the viewfinder is blurry. I thought a magnified eyepiece would be the answer, but now i'm reading that its actually WORSE for glasses wearers.

Is there ANYTHING out there that makes shooting photos with a Myopia easier?

>_> I just slapped on the extension tube, the macro lens, set "allow aperture ring" to on and started shooting. I thought there was something wrong with my viewfinder at first because it was so dark, then i realized that my aperture was closing when i turn the ring, and i was used to the aperture being wide open all of the time as on my 18-55 kit lens.

And my extension tubes have a matte paint covering the whole thing. Its your basic black 3-4 dollar extension tubes from Ebay.

I need to ask. What, exactly, are you expecting your camera to do with the extension tubes on?
