Looking for an upgrade to my K5ii. Mostly looking for the astro tracer function ,the dual SD card. The pixel shift would be the icing on the cake.
Thank you.

I would be interested in the focusing screen only, I imagine that is not an option - or is it? :)

Could you post a video of your lens? That might be helpful so others can see and compare.

Thank you! The image quality is really impressive especially at f3.5 and up. Very easy to use also with the Aperture priority mode.

I hope you'll have a great time. I'll be visiting Europe in September and I just purchased the Dumpke little bit smaller bag. It doesn't really look like a camera bag but it's perfect for a small kit and fits under the seat. I was able to pack my k5II with the 18-135, my 55-300 and sigma 10-20 and a 50 1.8. It also holds my flash and all the batteries, charger etc. Check it out, there are a few useful YouTube videos about it.

Thanks. We will be visiting the Grand Canyon and the surrounding parks in May. I consider myself a beginner although I had my k-x for about 3 years and last November upgraded to the K5II.
Just lately I began to dial in -0.6 EV, maybe I'll try bracketing until I figure out what works for me.
I'm glad you are okay, that's crazy. 90% of the time I shoot in Av mode with ISO set between 80-800. I will try TAv see how it'll work out.
Thanks for all the advice you guys.

I guess it's a question of taste. I myself like a little clarity and vibrance on my landscape photos too. You made it look almost like a painting, it's nice.
One other thing to mention is monitor calibration. I know that I need a new monitor sometimes soon, my current one has pretty dull colors and low contrast.

Imageman, I appreciate your input.
Unfortunatelly, I did not have the chance to wait for better light for the first image. My wife and I were hiking 15 miles that day.
I agree regarding the highlights. The second image was more like a challenge to make the best out of an owerblown photo. It was also taken throught the window of our car while driving.
They were both edited in Lightroom. I'll try to learsnas we travel, especially to watch out for highlights.

I wasn't trying to make a perfect exposure out of the last photo, it's more like an interesting overexposure recovery. I will try selective adjustment, just as I did with the first set of photos. I brightened the cabin area a bit to bring out the details.

Thanks guys for your input. My wife and I really enjoyed the park. The hike to the schalet was 15 miles round trip. I feel like going back sometimes. ---------- Post added 03-29-14 at 07:25 PM ---------- Here is an another before and after photos. I know that the clouds are blown out but I'm amazed of the K-x sensor being able to manipulate the RAW file to this extent.
