Hello,
This looks like a nice place to spend some time. My name is Simon (Si) and I just bought a Pentax! It's an ME-F 50/1.7
I'm stoked.
My first camera was an Olympus OM-30 back in the eighties. I followed that with a fallow period (20 years maybe?!), bereft of picture taking, until I bought an Alpha D200 in 2007.
Digital is fine and I really enjoy the convenience of it but it is a joy to come back to 35mm. I'm having so much fun with it and I haven't even finished my first roll of film (Ilford XP2 400, by the way).
I was out most of the day today and it was one of those days that started off pretty badly - overcast and windy - but became totally phenomenal by 3pm. Vast clouds of gloomy cumulonimbus but with a penetrating shimmering sunlight! I can't do it justice in words.
No doubt my pictures won't either. Regardless, it was great. If i'd have had the digital with me would I have had the same buzz? Or would I have deleted them by now?
