Lots of projects these days pulling me away from my hobby but that's life sometimes...anyways here are some samples from a trip last month to New Mexico using a Zeiss Touit 50mm/2.8 Macro.

Alright, since I really have little to no knowledge or stake in anything m43 I will look at those models. Let me define cheap for the purposes of this limited use small camera...I would say ideally less than 3 franklins but maybe maybe up to 3.5. :) Its really just to document my gears and not for traveling with anyway so for the moment I am considering an Oly Pen EPL8 or maybe 9.

Ok thanks for confirming. I don't know anything about m4/3 since I have never really been interested. However your GM1 purchase got me thinking about maybe picking up a tiny older Olympus Pen variant to use with an adapter and lenses I already have. Mainly to just take pics of my main camera body etc since my secondary body is IR converted lol...so I was just wondering about the 4/3 mount standard itself :) It seems these can be had for pretty cheap depending on which model

That's a nice color actually.

Question: Micro 4/3 "is" the lens mount standard right? So any m4/3 lens will work on any m4/3 body regardless of brand correct?

Been busy with a complete remodeling of 2 bathrooms (on my own) for my elderly parent-in-laws :) But still managed time to pick up a few things

* New phone...Galaxy S23Ultra since Samsung gave me $800 trade-in for my old phone (S22U) + free storage bump to 512GB + an additional discount via my education account

*** Set up a couple of trips for October
* Utah road trip for the big 5 national parks
* weekend getaway to Chicago

* And a new lens arrived about 2 weeks ago direct from Japan hot off its new release

From a recent midday walkabout. Yes it was hot with a 96F(35C) actual temp but due to the heat index and humidity(>90%) the feels like temp was a cool 110F(43C)...*sigh*...IDK what I was thinking :lol:

Yep makes sense to me...although the XF 27mm/2.8 WR was a great lens, it just wasn't worth having as far as I was concerned but ~$160ish for something >90% or so as good for 40% of the price...well its hard not to add one and just have it there for those times. Your image bank definitely shows this and you even tested in in strong harsh lighting conditions in some cases, also it really seems to shine in close focus situations (which I like) in some of your examples too.

And you know as well as I, what makes the Voigtlander philosophy and thus experience what it is so I was thrilled to add this to my compact kit for traveling and indeed am very very happy.

Meike is a bit of a surprise, I picked up a 35mm/1.4 all manual lens not too long ago because I found some obscure information that it worked well for IR photography. Not only did I find it completely hotspot free at all apertures that I care about...but the build quality and image quality (non-IR) were really quite excellent. So for $90 it is a hit.

I think I will end up getting that TTA AF lens at some point bc its just too good of a deal to not have one around for those times.

I wouldn't consider it a moment of weakness haha...it is a Voigtlander after all and with that comes the beautiful manual experience with that amazing tactile helicoid focusing that is just wonderous to use and of course the amazing micro-contrast and gorgeous image rendering Voigtlander is known for. Of course we can't forget that lovely bokeh and the icing on the cake is having the benefit of full electronic contacts for meta data + seamless focus checking. Yes, I am a Voigtlander fanatic and it was a pain to sell my K mount 20mm/58mm/90mm Voigtlanders but I really like having those electronic contacts and CV has been rapidly producing X-mount lenses lately...in fact there is the 50mm/1.2 Nokton coming our way soon and it will complete my small compact travel kit nicely...so I definitely will be suffering from my own CV "weakness" soon :lol:
