All,
Thank you for your suggestions. I think I have it figured out now. Attached are two photos taken back-to-back, one Bright and one N atural. These were taken with a Quantaray AF 70-300mm LD Tele-Macro lens.

Thank you for the suggestions. Using the P mode with the AF lens does the trick. I can take photos with the setting to Natural instead of Bright when in Auto mode.

Hi Rupert,
Thanks for the suggestion. I tried it and I can change thesetting from Bright to Natural with the lens removed. However, when I install an AF lens it defaults to Bright. I installed an MF lens and it stayed on Natural.
So now I need to figure out how to override the AF default of Bright.

Hello,
My Pentax *ist DL seems to brighten green colors. Is there something in the setting I need to change?
Many thanks in advance for your feedback.

Hello,
I am new to dslr camera photography and have purchased a used Pentax *ist DL that came with a DA 18-55 zoom lens. I'd like to have telephoto capability for taking sports pictures of my son's middle school football games. Parents are not allowed on the field so the shooting distance will be 100 - 300 feet from the stands. The DA 18-55 zoom lens does not magnify enough for that distance.
Has anyone used an auxiliary telephoto lens that screws onto the threads of the zoom lens (52mm diameter) much like a filter screws on?
How does an auxiliary telephoto lens attached to a zoom compare to a standard telephoto lens in terms of quality?
