Glad there are a few others here that are equally as excited as I was about seeing a few pentaxians in one spot ;)
We are somewhat of an endangered species... from the sounds of it a species that enjoys magic kingdom!

I was so overly excited to see 3 other pentax users in Disney today! That means there were at least 4 Pentax's in the park! Wow, thats the most I have seen in one spot ever! At one point 3 of us were all waiting at the same spot. Really neat!
posting to see if any of you jump on and see this! This guy said he was a member of the forum too :) --Are you out there??? LOL!

lol, yes Joe. I turn it on just fine ;)
Yes, it is a crazy weird problem. And what boggles me is that the remote wireless flash trigger works just fine mounted in the hotshoe, and the YN560 does flash once when mounted in the hotshoe every single time.
thanks sterretje. Did not even know yn560 had a forum. Will check that out now!

My YN560 will not operate on my K5. It flashes once, but wont flash again after that, and actually wont turn off after that either (the speedlight). I have to physically take the batteries out to get it to turn off at that point. However if I use a wireless flash trigger with the same camera and flash the flash operates flawlessly.
An online fellow pentax friend of mine has the same camera, same flash and has no issues operating the units with the flash on camera, and I had no issues with the YN560 on my Kx (same flash unit). But what confuses me is if it is the camera that has a hotshoe issue why would it operate fine with the remote wireless flash trigger? I need my camera for upcoming shoots but suppose I should really get it checked out by pentax before my year warranty runs out on it but figured I would check to see if anyone here had any input before I call Pentax. Any input is appreciated.

I have one to add... I have talked to two "photographers" lately who were asking me questions. I always ask them "well, let me ask you a question, do you shoot in manual or auto?".... they don't immediately answer, followed by them looking down at their dial, followed by "well, I think".. I stop them right there. If you think you shoot in.... you don't shoot in manual.
that being said I try to be very nice and give them my card, then tell them when they learn to shoot in manual feel free to email me with those questions... the answers will make a lot more sense after you know what an aperture is :)

Im not sure there is much to get. Just a cute little film. Put your photo in and your name and it will go through the film with your personalization, then at the end dude was using a Pentax, and the caption "you are different" came up. I thought it was cute in a non nikon/canon way... I mean, we are kinda different anywhere other than pentaxforum, right?

see thats where I'm going with this
indeed it did, just curious if it did a better job than a different type would've. THe problem I ran into is that the corner of it chipped on something (since it stands out from the camera 1-2mm's) and that created a weak point. from the weak point it split across the screen.. so really, did it protect my camera, or just get chipped because of the ledge it creates? Either way I am grateful for the job its done, but want to assess my options before ordering a replacement
Snydly, I'm intrigued by your link.... might be worth a try...
