The box of my D-BG4 is the same as the box on the image of the first page of the thread, with the same reference "A0332" printed on it.
Yes, indeed, it came with the 2 trays (battery tray and AA batteries tray ).

This is what I heard from someone from Pentax.
(And it was the same for the 55-300, 4 days before the announcement)

The new "trans-standard" zoom (16-80, 17-82, 16,5-77,5, ... or whatsoever) will be announced before end of year

Nothing about it !
For the 16-85 (or 18-70 or something like that) we should have an announcement this end of year, for what I know :)

I don't know for this, but i know that Ricoh / Pentax will do some other kind of marketing (in some European countries certainly, for the rest, I don't know) like they did with the Ricoh GR...

I hope more (better).
The LCD screen from the Ricoh GR is a 3" with over 1.2M dots,
This new one 3.2" LCD should have more than 1.2M dots.

Now it is ;-)

The PENTAX DA 12-24 4.0 will be probably replaced by a new version 12-28 4.0.
The 12-24 is a Pentax version of the Tokina 12-24 4.0 and Tokina has recently released a new version lens, 12-28 4.0 with DC motor.
It make sense to await a Pentax version of this one ;) Tokina AT-X PRO DX 12-28 mm f/4 review - Summary - Lenstip.com |

I really do not see the value of these "crop" modes when shooting!
This is more of a limitation than of a feature. :o
It is always possible to make the "crop" in post-processing without limitations (the entire image is available and you can decide to crop at 39mm, 31mm, 52mm, anything you want and also any format you want, 4 / 3, 3/2, 3.21 / 1.89, 3,89,2,001 ...).
Or am I totally wrong with this point of view?

Yes, the silhouette went away (silhouette of a K-5 II, maybe it's the reason to remove it and maybe we'll soon seen another silhouette )
Now, you have that : |

(it was rumored elsewhere)
If with more electronical informations (an electronic layer?) in the E/OVF, it would be great

Oh, i think I'm wrong with this sentence: :o
The statements from PENTAX are that it is close to the Pentax's Aero-bright Coating (but I don't know how this Aero-bright coating "scores" compared to the Nikon's Nano Coating). And if PENTAX shows us a comparison between standard SMC and HD coatings, they give us no comparison with Aero-bright coating.
For the rest of my statement:
I think my point of view is correct ...
See this : Quote: DE: You've got another coating, the "Aero Bright" coating, and it seems like both of those were used together in the 90mm. How do they differ? Are they serving different functions?
JC: The Aero Bright coating is for internal surfaces of the lens. It reduces internal reflections, and changes the refraction of the light through the lens. But it's not as durable as the HD coating, whereas the HD coating is appropriate for external lens surfaces. It's more durable, and it accomplishes the same goals. If you put them together, you end up with a great lens.
DE: Got it. I'm not sure what technology you're using, but I know that the nano coatings tend to be soft coatings, so they're very easily damaged.
JC: Yes.

Also this: Quote: PENTAX - PENTAX Announces New 90mm Macro Lens
HD PENTAX D FA 645 MACRO 90mm F2.8 ED AW SR lens
This lens is treated with HD Coating*, a newly developed, high grade multi-layer lens coating , which offers higher light transmittance with reduced reflection, to deliver sharp, clear images free of flare and ghosting, even under demanding lighting conditions such as backlight. By coupling this coating with the PENTAX-exclusive, high grade Aero Bright Coating,** this lens optimizes light transmittance while minimizing refraction.
* HD stands for High Definition, and signifies the lens’s capacity to reproduce images that excel in transparency, definition, resolution and rendition.
** A PENTAX-original lens coating process developed through the use of advanced nanotechnology. Using a silica aerogel with a uniform porous structure as the base material, this coating produces clear, high-quality images by assuring an outstanding anti-reflection performance over a broad wavelength range. For the Aero-bright coating, PENTAX speaks of Nanotechnology, NOT for the HD coating.
In your description, Kunzite, PENTAX does not speak of nanotechnology, but of the thickness and accuracy of the layer (and the process to achieve this). ;-)

I don't think that HD is nano-coating or may be compared to nano-coating !
It's just an improved version of the SMC coating, but remains way behind the nano-coatings of Canon/Nikon

Certainly not, it was an early prototype destined to be marketed.
But Pentax decided not to do so (and it's difficult to blame them, Contax, with the same sensor, tried to do it but it ended with a cessation of activities in 2005 ! This was to early for the digital market to release a FF camera.)
I can see some differences between the two models of MZ-D (and with better photos it will be easier to trace these), for example, there is an AF on the AF button on the back of the K-1 but not on the same button on the back of the earlier prototype !
