This one for the contest was taken on a cloudy night in Vancouver, BC Canada at False Creek. The Lee Big Stopper ND10 filter gave me the possibility to extend the exposure time to 341 seconds to create the clean look of the water and capture the movement of the clouds.

Taken just before sunset on top of Mission Peak in Fremont, California.
This was my trek to Mission Peak. I was very excited for it as it was July 4th and we had planned to see fireworks from top of the peak. Turns out the trek is not easy for lazy ducks like myself and carrying my tripod along didn't help the cause. We were 4 of us (me, my wife, a friend and his wife). My and wifey were way behind our friends and if not for the wifey, I would've turned back long before I reached this spot.
This spot is special because this is where multiple trails merge to become one that leads to the summit. From this point, other peaks in the area are also visible. The timing turned out to be perfect as the angle and color of sunshine were just perfect. Dry grass on everywhere helped with the golden color.

Taken during a 3 day excursion in Wadi Rum, Jordan. We were driving around the desert, when suddenly we came across this patch of wild flowers. I immediately, ask the driver to stop for a bit. The scene was pretty overwhelming as well as beautiful.

The photo was taken at children's music festival where I was with my daughter. It was held in a small Siberian settlement. I saw the children's folk ensemble preparing for a show. I shot series of photos and picked the best one. With the help of Lightroom I improved distortion and geometry and did color correction. |
