Yes, this is true. Just wanted to perhaps clarify to a new user what to expect from those options, as there seemed to be a concern about Lightrooms adjustments history being damaged after external editing.

Regards

Here is were you need to be careful when working with jpegs. When sending a file to an external editor to be worked on, in the dialog box that pops up, if you choose "Original" instead of "Copy" or "Copy with Lightroom Adjustments" then any adjustments made on that file in lightroom will be lost and overwritten by changes saved by the external editor. If you want to be able to go back and make changes to your lightroom adjustments on the original file then you must choose "Copy with Lightroom Adjustments" option. This will create a copy of that file with your lightroom adjustments then send them to your external editor. This file will show up in lightroom stacked next to the original. It will say something like "2 of 2" , original would be "1 of 2". So the original is untouched and any lightroom adjustments to that original can be undone or changed. This behavior is similar when working with RAW files but forces you to edit a "Copy" or "Copy with Lightroom Adjustments" and you will not be able to choose to edit the original, since in this case the original is a raw file. Hope this helps.

Regards.

I have just got myself back into photography after about 25 years. In those years I was into music and playing guitar. I was caught up in what they call G.A.S. {Gear Acquisition Syndrome}. Now I find it ironic I am spending most my time now on "FleBay" looking for the best deals on A series prime lenses as I used to searching effects pedals and amps! L.B.A. is fun though! :D

Just got my first DSLR K10D with the 18-55mm DA kit lens and I am just having so much fun using this thing. Been away from photography for many years since way before digital. I love now being able to see the results instantly with digital SLR. Plus the ways you can process images on the computer. Going to be a fun ride. :D
