I was in the same boat a couple weeks ago. I went with the K20, my fiances dad is a pro and has been for about 40 years. He always stuck with Pentax. He, right now has a K20d after upgrading his K10 and will not be upgrading anytime soon even when looking at the specs of the other cameras even different brands. I took his advise and bought the K20d on ebay for $435 and I LOVE it!! I'm glad I didn't get the K-x that I played around with in the store... The image quality difference blew me away (between the k-m and k20d) Im very happy with my decision :)

Thanks a lot.. I cleaned the contacts and adjusted it so its not so tight and it seems to be working again :)
If it stops working I'm going to smash it lol, at least that gives me an excuse to buy a new camera!

I'm getting really frustrated with my Km... I recently purchased a generic external flash, I read how to use it and I know that I can only use it in manual or shutter priority mode.I did that yesterday and it worked fine...
I went to use it today and it wouldn't work! The flash itself works fine, the test button makes the flash, flash and its fully charged but when I go to take a picture it wont work! I changed everything to the exact same settings that I was using it on yesterday and nothing...
I have read my manual and I can't find anything in there to help me... I'm 9 months pregnant and I'm about to throw my camera across the room!!! (not that that is relevant but it might show how angry I'm getting lol)

I was at our local exhibition today and there was a booth set up for a photography business... I took a peek at it, the pictures were great.. I was thinking to myself.. Shes probably got a Canon, just like every other professional photographer in my area.. I was ready just to walk away from the display until I saw her PENTAX K20 set on the table for everyone to see :) I didnt get to stop and talk to her about it but I was very pleased, you could tell she was thinking "Ha!, take that Canikon!"

I have a K-m and when my ISO is set to auto it usually jumps up to 800-1000. I always switch it to 200-400 and I never really have a problem with noise. If you have your camera set to Auto then you probably just have the ISO set to that as well.

I only know 5 people with DSLR's, there are 3 Canons and 2 Pentax's. The 2 Pentax belong to my father in law (K20d) and sister in law (K10d) :) I think that if I had boughten anything besides a Pentax I would have been disowned lol! I don't regret my decision, I love my little entry level K-m!
