Bugger.
I use the same technique when blowing my cameras. So far I've been lucky and not had any problems. Hope you can get it sorted. It would be very distracting/ annoying having that right in the center.

D FA 150-450, D FA 70-200, K3-lll if it was available. If not a D FA50 or D FA 15-30.

Have you tried a air blower ? If dust can get there. A blower just might blow it out, or blow it to the side so it's not in the center.

D FA 24-70F2.8 is a very good lens and would be fine for senior portraits. But as others have said, you should be looking at a 70-200, or similar for sports. The extra reach is very handy. If the Pentax D FA 70-200F2.8 is above your price limits. look at the Tamron 70-200F2.8 it is still a very capable lens.

Reading about the zoom jam thingy of this lens had me a little worried. As this is a lens on my want/must have list.
Thanks for this post, fix solution. Makes me feel a little more relaxed about laying down a few thousand for one. Knowing it's, most likely an easy fix. If it does happen.

Yes I'll be getting the 150-450 first. I think I'd rather a wider than 50mm. A FF 20mm would be nice...
