thanks guys, no i cant use my ring light, it was only a cheap one and its a bit big, as i said it hits the bellows rails unless i have the bellows extended out far enough that the lens passes the rails.
newarts,
i will look into that, thanks, is your quality of picture reduced from the raynox glass?
thanks everyone for the info

using a bellows and my tamron
on a different note guys, is it worth getting an auto focus extension tube (so i can use my ring light) or dont bother since the camera will have trouble focusing anyway with any extension?

i use a bellows, its really hard to work with
the other reason was because my ring light/flash i have may not work with the bellows, since the rails for it might hit the ring flash/light and stop it from mounting on the end of the lens.

yes i meant shots haha
i mean extreme macro by really magnified shots such as
or even closer.
i searched raynox, but A couldnt really find one for a pentax, and B wasnt so sure on it because it uses a glass filter in front and was concerned that the quality would suffer.
what about reversal lenses?

thanks for the great replies guys.
my bellows has a slide and tripod mount which is handy thank god, and ive learnt that i do need some decent light unless im using flashes and diffusers.
even with all the above, its gonna be tuff getting some flying shots of bugs haha, it amazes me how some people can do it, especially since everything is manual.

u were right, there was a setting, just having a play, i dont know how your supposed to get bug shots with this, because the camera has to have the shutter open for ages before getting any decent light in, good luck shooting moving targets

thanks for the quick reply, i do have a lens on the end, its my 90mm tamron macro lens, and i cant adjust any focus for some reason, i understand that i need to manualy do everything with a bellows, but it just looks like the camera craps itself as soon as the bellows is on. i cant put the flash up, i cant change any of the dials (the auto pic, or macro setting, or manual exposure etc) the only thing that seems to work is getting ito the menus, other than that the F just flashes on the top screen and in the view finder :S

ive thought about these
so they do about the same huh? would you need different gnd filters? because what if its a different type of day and the filter doesnt work as it should? aka different lights from the sky?

so the best fix is, under expose the sky, so the ground is darker, and then brighten up the ground in ps?

hey guys, i know that its a common issue and problem when doing scenery, but how do you allow the ground to be as bright as the sky? instead of just a silhouette?
