If you still have the original image you can use PhotoME (which is free) to export the Exif and then import it into the processed image.

Fine sharpness makes lines thinner thus increasing sharpness. Use it when you need to bring out detail in hair etc.

Here are some pictures with and without shake reduction. 50mm, ISO 100, F/8, 1.6 secs, handheld without any brace.
According to the Exif data both shots had SR ON.
SR does nothing at the slow shutter speed you chose. It is designed to give you around two stops advantage, but at very slow shutter speeds any advantage is canceled by the excessive camera shake.
Try shutter speeds faster than one second (say 1/5) and see the difference.

Then adjust your shutter speed to compensate.
You will probably need to choose a different shutter speed/aperture combination to adjust for camera shake &/or depth of field.
1/100 @ F16 is equivalent to the following combinations:
1/200 @ F11
1/400 @ F8
1/800 @ F5.6
etc

A way around this is to set up your USER Mode to shoot in RAW and all other Modes in JPEG.
The RAW button will still give you RAW+ no matter which mode you are in but you can shoot in just RAW by switching to USER Mode instead of going into the Menu.

Hi Ernest,
There are two types of vignetting; mechanical -caused by a lens hood, and optical - caused by the characteristics of the lens.
Not much you can do to correct an image which has mechanical vignetting other than crop or clone it out. Removing the lens hood will solve the problem in the future.
Optical vignetting can be corrected with digital editing tools depending on the severity of the problem.
Check out a neat free program here: MV

Yes, it is acessed from within PSP just like any other plugin. BTW it works well and is simple to use once you read the Readme file that comes with it.
Just copy the plugin file to My Documents/My PSP Files/Plugins. Make sure you have that path speciified in File Locations under Prefernces.
Cheers,

Received this reply from CRK today.
The factory has no comment to make on the accuracy of information coming from third party software, and further they do not even acknowledge the concept of hardware versions.
From our local point of view we could potentially strip down your camera and install a new main PCB , but I cant be sure that will make any difference to the "hardware version" or the focusing accuracy .
Personally, If I were looking to upgrade my camera body , I would be looking to the new K20D which has significantly better image quality , particularly noise performance , it also has the ability to custom set the focus point for up to 20 lenses
kind regards

You will probably get better lighting without the flash. If you don't want to shoot in RAW then try different White Balances. I normally get better results with Auto WB.
Don't be afraid to use a tripod so you can get maximum DOF. This will also allow you to use 100 ISO for less noise. If you can't use a tripod then use Auto ISO and deal with the noise in your editing software.
Have fun,

Upgrade to 1.3 and you will have all the latest goodies including the one you mention.
Forget about the hidden menu - it's easy to stuff up the camera completely.

I contacted CRK and at first they didn't know what I was talking about - they thought I meant firmware update :(
I directed them to the Exif data which showed the Model Version and that seemed to be the first time they had heard about it.
They responded that version upgrades were not available under warranty, and if I were having a focus issue to send in the camera and lens for calibration.
I then asked how the upgrade would affect the camera and how much it would cost. Just received a reply that they will check it with the factory and come back to me in a couple of days.
I'll keep you posted.

You could bracket your exposures so that you capture a range from under to over exposure.
You can use spot metering and meter on bright or dark areas to get different exposures.
If you're happy with M why not stay with it - it puts you in complete control.
Enjoy the K10 and more importantly, enjoy taking photographs.

Hi Peter,
The ISO setting will show in all modes except Auto, P, M or B.
You can make it show in these modes if you press and hold the OK button.
