Firmware?

Hello,

I recently got my KP with firmware 1.0. According to this Latest PENTAX KP Firmware Update : Software Downloads | RICOH IMAGING - there is firmware 1.10 but nothing relevant for me, i dont have HD PENTAX-D FA*50mmF1.4 SDM AW.

I can't find older firmware changelog. As I can see acutal firmware is 1.10 and what about previous? My camera has 1.0. Anyone has changelog for older firmwares?

Dont worry. My K-x has 54,246 and it is 5 years old and I terorized it on rain, on my bike, etc, and it is still good :)

Another body is k5iis, 9 months old and it has 23,385. What do you think about that? :)

My guess was right, I think :)

I am very surprised about Tamron 17-50 - very nice colors - pentane like, much better than da 35 IMHO for sure.

I had tammy and was very pleased using it until front element got damaged from INSIDE (!?).

Now I use my DA35 a lot and waiting for 16-85 which I ordered few day ago...

16-45 exposure difference

Hello.

Is it normal to get visible difference in exposure on different aperature?

Here some examples:

1. 16-45 wide open f4.0

2. 16-45 f6.3

3. DA 35 f4.0 for comprasion

Camarea is K5is, same thing on K-x.

DA 35 is pretty constant, more or less.

Ty.

I do have K-5iis (and K-x), and 16-45, DA 35 f2.4 and bucnh of manual lenses.

Most of time i use 16-25mm with my zoom but it is too bulky because I am on my bike a lot.

I realy like IQ of da 35 2.4 and in therms of sharpness and size is great but a bit too long.

Thank you for samples, and I guess i will get them both but now I must decide which one to buy first :)

So here is what am i thinking:

I need big favour. If any of you guys have both - can you grab your camera and take two shots with both and post it here, if it is possible on bright sunny day :)

Right now from your window, SOC :) I guess general IQ which i like more will win :o

Hello.

When i remove battery and put it back immediately camera resets aperature to F8.0. It is always in Av mode.

And I noticed every now and then resets it itself after 24hours or more.

Is that normal?

Hello.

I was unofficial photographer of bike race and lot of pictures came out like this. First one is good and second is not.

Exif is same (f 6.3, iso400).

I didn't realized i had one big stain on lens (i guess i spill it with iso drink).

Today i tested camera and took 250 photos and everything is fine. What do you think ? I hope is just drink lol :)

Second glitch is camera resets aperature when is off to f 8.0 - not always but sometimes.

Camera is still under warranty.

I was happy with my k-x and adjusted AF to +130 for my 16-45 (lens is 6 year old and i am 3rd owner). On K-5 iis is inconsistent. On wide end i need +2 micro adjusment and on long end i need +6. I guess something is wrong with AF. Also front element have little scratch wich is only visible on bright and direct light like weird flare. On K-x everyting was good, seemed sharper due to lower resolution and less mpx. So I am thinking that little plastic fantastic 35 gave me anxiety and i want to replace 16-45 with something little sharper and better AF. So i need wide prime or zoom wich will give me better overall IQ. 16-45 will be on my K-x as backup body and lens. Tamron 17-50, Sigma 17-50, 17-70 or prime, 21, 15, or.. what? :)

Hey,

I was very happy with 16-45 and my K-x. I also have 50-200, 35 2.4 a bunch of manual primes (Pentax M 50 1.7, cosina 100mm - great lenses) K-x and 35 2.4 did not go well with each other (Focusing issues) and that was my forgotten gem in drawer.

And now i bought K-5 iis. 35 2.4 works perfect and IQ is crazy good. But i am not happy with my wide part. I need something wide which is close to 35 2.4 in terms of sharpness. On photozone.de I considered a 15mm ltd but it seems that 16-45 is shaper on wide end according to charts. Weird. Prime is not must have, but i want lens wich is sharper then 16-45 and with great AF. Any ideas ? Maybe sigma 17-70? 10-20? Tamron 17-50 (i heard about focusing issues with this lens?) Or ? Thank you :)
