I think there is also some setting where you specify when to create new folder. I think mine set to 100-DDMM (DD- day, MM - month) or something like that. I need to check this one too.
Yes, images were there BEFORE every swap - i could preview them in camera screen.
I think it has something to do with SD card/ creating new folder every time. I am sure formatting SD card will fix it, i.e. no folder exists. I was just wondering if anyone faced the same problem as i am having and what exactly causing it.

Interesting points. Well, i didn't swap batteries and they have some juice left in them. Also, it creates new folder meaning the date keeps changing, isn't it? So, time shouldn't get reset after the lens swap but i will check on that.
But even with wrong date they have to be stored somewhere and i can't find them - folder 100-XXXX has couple dozen photos and none of them taken during last photo session (with either lens).
Is it possible that i have set RAW format and they are not visible with camera preview or Windows Explorer? But it is hard to believe cause at least they should be listed as files with no preview, right? I can't check it now cause camera is not with me.

I finally got myself Sigma 10-20mm lens couple days ago. To test it i started to take some photos with it. Then I swapped it with kit lens (18-55) and took couple more photos. After I removed SD card and connected to laptop i couldn't find any of my photos - neither taken with Sigma or kit lens, only old photos taken prior to swap.
I repeated steps - took some pics with Sigma and noticed it creates new folder 101-XXXX (there is already folder 100-XXXX with old photos). As soon as i swap lenses folder 101-XXXX gets truncated. WTH? Can anyone explain to me why new folder gets truncated AFTER lens swap?

So, when you see guards taking photos with naked prisoners in regular prisons do you feel angered or not? Would you call those guards animals too?
I appreciate those photos but not for aesthetics but for historical value and evidence that it happened and how inhuman people can be.
I just find it ironic people complaining about animal fights while eating there chicken nuggets. Either complain about both or just enjoy fight while eating your chicken sandwich.

B&W is better but did you boost sharpness and contract on it? Seems color one lacks both.

Totally agree. Most people are hypocrites - they complain about animal cruelty while eating their burgers and chicken sandwiches. Is it more "human" to raise chicken as currently done in many factories across USA and boil them alive to skin? If you find it inhuman why don't you find ads/photos with chicken meat offensive? Why do you keep eating eggs and chicken nuggets?
Open your eyes - animal cruelty everywhere. Animals inhumanly raising/killing animals are not better of animals putting other animals into fight. We need these kind of photos to remind us to check what we are doing wrong ourselves.

NaCl - thanks for advise. Great practice steps. But i want to point out regardless how much you practice if you can't see clear enough in viewfinder you still get OOF pictures.
I also have hard time manually focusing on my K-X and after much research decided to change focusing screen first. There are several options available from what i learned (in order of preference):
1) Katz eye - most expensive one ($100+)
2) Focusing Screen (Taiwan based company) - some good quality screens ($45+), my favorite is K3 based on Nikon SLR focusing screen (~$85)
3) many Chinese made knockoffs starting $18+
Even though knockoffs will be real upgrade compared to original screen I think best route is to get one from Focusing Screen. First QC is better and they may use better materials(definitely K3 is really nice)
There is downside too - many complain about effecting camera spot metering and inability to use split screen in all F stops. But I still decided to change focusing screen - what's point of original screen if can't focus anyway?
I don't want to pay $80+ for Nikon based screen and decided to go DIY route. I ordered online old Nikon focusing screen (~18) and going to follow one of many tutorials available online. Never done it before but seems like an interesting project. Good luck (I need it for sure :) )

Oh, well, lets not forget that during Soviet regime from 20 million to 50 million people were killed based on different researches. Bolsheviks killed anyone "opposing" (or just suspicion was enough) to regime regardless of race or background. So, I wouldn't call it targeted slaughter.
Ditto to that. Let's not forget Pakistan and India too - the product of their international politics.

Wheatfield, why would be Israel interested in destabilizing Egypt even further? Only if there was open war going on. Or that Egypt is in the edge of civil war. I don't see any of this there.

I am not looking for survey results or opinionated articles. I want actual facts if immigrants are burden in US economy or not. What is their actual net contribution/burden on economy. If you provide link to reputable source that would be really helpful.

Iran is right on what? That Israel should be wiped out of world's map? I wonder when all these anti-Israeli rhetorics started to appear in Iran politics. 30 years ago? Coincidence?
And honestly what is there between Iran and Israel? Was there war between Israel and Iran? Nothing except yelling and shouting at each other. Iranians don't give a hoot about Palestinians. Iranians are not even Arabs. Tell me, during last 60 years how many Iranians were killed by Arabs? How many Iranians were killed by Israel?
Don't listen to puppet moron Ahmadinejad. Lets numbers and history talk. It's all about finding outside enemy to get public attention away from more important internal affairs. It happens in Iran, it happens in US, it happens in China. We've all been there, seen that. Give us something knew.

2 and 3 sentences from link you provided: Quote: After the expansion of Islam into the Middle East from the Arabian Peninsula, Jews, along with Christians and Zoroastrians, typically had the legal status of dhimmi.[1] As such, they were accorded rights and were not persecuted for their religious beliefs unlike most parts of Medieval Europe, but were not accorded full privileges such as those accorded to native Muslims. When I agree it wasn't easy to be a Jew in the past why do you think Jews in Medieval Europe treated better than in Muslim countries?
Exactly my point. Most tensions between Arabs and Jews are escalated within last 60 years. And the sad part is that it's all was clear that there would be escalation. Much easier to control fighting sides than peaceful neighbors :(

I didn't mean casualties ratio: it's not even close. I meant the single act itself: act of exploding bus and striking civilian village is both crime. They both are equally wrong. Unless there is such thing as "wronger".

Come on, now. You never seen looting and plundering during riots or revolutions in any other country? It's always been there and will be. Only time will tell how safe/unsafe will be there in near future. So, i wouldn't use such time frames as "decades" for now.
Oh, there are tons of places in big US cities I wouldn't advice locals to go to, let alone tourists. Does it make US less safe for tourists? Of course not - just use common sense and research before you travel anywhere.

Dear Parallax, it is ever evolving world we live in. World is not the same as 1967 and there are new players in region since then. No one would benefit from open war including Israel. Actually developed Israel has more to loose in open war than neighboring developing countries.
So, you saying Palestinians are justified to explode buses and buildings? They also fighting for their land and their survival, aren't they? So, it's ok to become inhuman just to survive? Who dismissed humanity?
Committing war crimes are never justified. I just don't see much difference between exploding buses and air strikes of villages full of civilians. Both sides are equally wrong.

Seems you are an expert in US immigration. Care to share with us how your grandfathers become US citizens? Do you think their method is going to work with current laws? And btw, your grandparents ARE immigrants who become naturalized citizens. Always remember it.
Why stating obvious facts? And who is "we"?Who are "they"? Seems you like to talk for many people or even whole country.
My question to all you immigration "experts" here. How alien can become legal US resident with current laws?
