If I was just bringing my KP, my options depending on intended subjects:
1) 16-85: great quality and good all purpose
OR
2) 16-85 and 10-17FE: I get a lot of use out of the 10-17
OR
3) 18-135: only if I really think I need longer than 85 (even though the higher quality of the 16-85 means I can crop a bit) and if I want a lens lighter than 16-85
OR
4) If I want more: add one of: DA40XS, DA21, DA35, or DA 50; only rarely have I needed the 55-300

UPDATE: I got the Neewer 72mm magnetic lens cap to go w/ my K&F 72mm kit. The cap attaches well. No problems, BUT it does NOT fit on the 72mm VND2-32 magnetic filter. I should have checked, but it turns out that the front of that filter is 77mm. (That's why the lens cap was falling off.) I tried putting a 77mm on it, and that works fine.
Bottom line: The Neewer magnetic lens caps work on K&F, but you apparently need to go a size up with the VND filters.

@bdery: I'm extremely pleased with the K&F Concepts magnetic set. I managed to find a cheap kit (ring, UV, CPL, ND1000, case) on ebay and an open box discount on the VND2-32. I don't see any degradation in sharpness. Maybe a little bit of warming with the CPL. I am very happy with these, and I can see that I will be much more inclined to use filters regularly. (In the past, it was just enough of a pain screwing filters on/off that I didn't bother to use them much.) The case works well too.
A few things:
1) As @bdery noted, the magnetic ring for the VND has some groves to 'lock' the filter in place. It does work well enough with the regular magnetic ring that comes with the other filters. Only thing is that they look identical at first glance, including the markings, so you have to look closely to figure out which ring is which.
2) With the regular magnetic ring, a standard snap on lens cap works fine. The VND magnetic ring, however, must be just a fraction larger, because the snap on cap can come off pretty easily.
3) Neither the kit nor the VND comes with a lens cap. Buying the magnetic lens cap is relatively expensive compared to buying the lens filters! ($22 for a 72mm) The Neewer lens caps are on sale at Amazon ($12 for 72mm), and they say they are K&F compatible, so I'm getting one of those, and I'll report how they work.

The museum director I talked to you with the Francois Vase was happy I noticed because he too said how expensive that glass case was.

In 2017, the Francois Vase was temporarily on display in Athens where I saw it. The first thing I noticed while photographing it was the lack of glare or reflections. I mentioned it to the museum director, and I made his day for noticing it. It was a special glass that they used for the case. You can see some reflections on the inside of the glass on the sides, but there were virtually no distractions looking straight on. This JPG is unedited from the DNG.

Welcome! (I had to welcome someone from Chilliwack given that I really liked the band Chilliwack back in the 70s!)

I have 24 lenses for my Pentax system. A few I don't use enough to really keep and some I would like to trade in to get something better. And some I keep just because they are such jewels. I have the A 50 f1.4, but I still keep the M 50 f1.7 because it is so satisfying just to hold in my hand as almost a work of engineering art.

I've spent quite a few weeks in Athens visiting all over. I agree w/ others that traveling light is nice. Personally, I've usually just used my KP with the 16-85 and the DA 10-17FE. Trying to get that kind of range with your K-1 will be a challenge, and if you are on tours, you don't really have time to be changing lenses. Maybe go with the A 35-105?

I only have the F 35-70, but it's been a fun little lens for a variety of situations.

I have a K3 and the KP, but I almost always use the KP. The K3 does really feel like a professional camera, but the size/weight, tilt-screen, and somewhat better high ISO of the KP means it's the one I use most.

I have seen only a few other Pentax users on my travels, but I always make a point of complimenting them on their outstanding choice in camera!

A few other lenses I like to use on a Fuji that still keep it small and light even with the adapter: |

IMO... Using M42 lenses on Fuji mirrorless is a good option. Those old M42 lenses were often quite small and even with the M42 to X adapter keep things rather compact. I have a fun little TeleTak 200mm f5.6 and a SuperTak 150mm f4). My X-S10 has IBIS, so it works out great.
