Nahhhh.
Really?
I'd a sworn that that was the official announcement video from Ricoh.
Are you sure?
Guess I better watch it again.
I'd a bet good money that that was FOR SURE the official announcement.
But if you're sure.....

That's a polarizing filter on the top, I believe. Or the jocosity was just too puerile to be trenchant.

The thing with UFO's is that once you start looking for them, you begin to see them everywhere!
With all of the cell phones around, you'da thought there'd be lots of evidence by now.

Are you planning on taking a backup camera body? I ask only because of personal experience. Even if it is an older, less capable camera, it will be worth its weight in gold if something happens to your K-3. And Pentax is not nearly as available as Canon, Nikon and Sony. Hate to be stuck with just your iphone on safari!
Also, make sure you have plenty of good quality, charged camera batteries with you.

I was recently shopping K-01's on ebay, and the vast majority of sellers from Japan were a bit dodgy when inquiring about the shutter count. They just "assured" me about how good it looked and how it was lightly used.
My original K-01 was lost somehow during a move. The DA21 Limited lived on that body, even though I had the DA 40xs. I've since acquired the F 35-70 zoom and the F 50 1.7 that I want to try on the new one.
I'll probably end up with the DA 21 back on it though.

My non-technical attempt to explain what is happening:
Lower quality jpeg settings compress all of the recorded image data into a smaller file. What would otherwise be smooth gradients in color or light levels are squeezed tight, leaving less room for those gradations, which produces "zaggy" edges at transitions of color or light. This is particularly more visible on the comparatively small screen on the back of the camera. Cramming 24 megapixels of data into a 2 megapixel file, something's got to give!

What they^^^^ all said. It is a fantastic lens. I leave it on my K-1 in my bag, as I know that it will cover most situations when I have to grab and go.

The BG-4 grip came with a tray for the D-LI90 battery, same as for the body (K5ii). I don't think that the 109 battery even existed at the time.
