If a spare card is available, it is suggested to try below to reset the image number to zero.- Current Card: Card A
- Standby Card: Card B
- Insert the newly-formatted Card B and take a photo.
- Insert the Card A and take a photo.
- Connect the Card B with a computer and then change the photo name from ????#### to ????9999. (? = Any character; # = any number)
- Insert the Card B again and take a photo. The photo name is ????0001.
- If you want to use back the Card A, please have to back up the files to your computer and then format the Card A. Insert the Card A again and take a photo. The photo name is ????0002.
If want to set the image count to certain number, say 7620, you should ...- Insert the newly-formatted Card B and take a photo. Take it out and change the photo name to ????9999 via you computer.
- Back up the files of Card A to your computer and then format the Card A.
- Insert the Card A and take a photo. Take it out and change the photo name to ????7619
- Insert the Card B again and take a photo. The photo name is ????0001.
- Insert the Card A again and take a photo. The photo name is ????7620.

Posted too soon, I figured it out.
In case anyone else finds this thread and needs to figure it out: Go to camera options page 5, then memory, then page 2. Uncheck file number. Format the card. Take a picture. That'll be name0001. Put the card in your computer, rename that picture you just took (the only one in the camera) to name####, wherever you need the numbers to start. Go back into the option menu and turn on remember file numbers. Stick the memory card back in and take a picture - it should be incremented 1 up from whatever you renamed it to.
