I can understand people who have no interest in an adapter like this. I can even understand brand loyalists. That's fine.
What I don't comprehend is hanging out in a thread for a product you don't want just to be negative and complain about it, like it was about you. It's not.

I never thought I'd see such a creature. I've been dreaming of using my 300mm F* on an A7II body. Maybe even the 1.7x AF adapter. Yes, I have to have this.

They must have an entire warehouse filled with old FA parts.

Right, but couldn't that be code for 'ceasing all operations immediately and burying all remaining Pentax merchandise in a landfill near the E.T. Atari cartridges."

Like Nikon, Pentax put contacts inside their smaller flange. You'd probably have to machine the glass around the power zoom / digital contacts to achieve 1.2

K7 > K5 > K3 > K1 is the successor. Those are the flagship cameras, and I'd imagine they'll stay full frame from now on. It's kinda funny, people have been asking for full frame for so long, now people are asking were Pentax' D500 is.

Sometimes, sometimes not. The other -3 and -4 EV cameras like the GM1 use contrast detect. It doesn't even have phase detect. The GM1 does a really nice job in low light. But you're not going to be tracking objects in that kind of light anyway, no matter what AF system you use, which is why focus peaking and digital zoom are nice features for low light and manual glass.
I got a really good deal on a A7 awhile back, and the only drawback is battery life. Which sux, but battery life in my K-01 is just fine. So it's not the mirrorless per se, just how well power consumption and battery density is designed.

Battery life, yes. All that other stuff, not really. But people keep looking at this from a consumer standpoint, when they need to look at this from a manufacture's stand point. Mirrorless systems are just dead simple. It's flange in front of a PCB. That's it.
A DSLR has no less than 5 optical light paths that all have to be perfectly aligned. The reflexing mirrors, AF module, the metering module, the focusing screen, and the digital overlay. If any one of those is messed up, it becomes a pain to use. Getting it right makes it more expensive to design and manufacture.
Mirrorless has one. As long as the distance from the sensor to the flange is correct, everything else is done in software.

If you're curious what this can do: Sony A7 Lens Turbo II - Album on Imgur
Why? Well why not. It seems most lenses allow for a 1:1 crop in this configuration or even 4:5.
It's just a real shame the A7 doesn't allow for custom crops, which would aid in framing.

The thing to do is go straight to his advertisers and see if *they* want to be associated with someone who uses Aspergers as an insult, and I'm sure you could create quite a stink by alerting Aspergers advocacy groups to his insults as well. Pentax will do fine without him, but attacking people with learning disabilities because he doesn't like a camera is bullshit.

One thing people almost constantly complain about is focus accuracy and speed, and that's the inherent problem with screw drive. It can either be fast, or it can be accurate, but it can't be both. All geared systems have backlash. which is the "slack" between where the gear faces meet each other. And that little Pentax-shimmy at the end of the focus travel is undoubtedly there to average out the error, but it feels like hesitation. Sonic motors don't do that, and just putting beefer and beefer motors in the body doesn't really address that perception.

if the images are at least as good as the Q, I'm getting one. The first generation had pretty atrocious image quality.
And a google app. . .I wonder if it has GPS? That'd be nice for a camera like this.

The K3 AF is great compared to past iterations, but Sony has phase detect on chip that's as good as the highest end systems offered by Canon. Nikon's behind the curve as well. It's an 'off the shelf' solution they'd be crazy to ignore -- it's just a question of how to utilize it and keep the 'penta' in Pentax.

They've been working toward the grand scheme: The K1, K2, and K3II
Just like Canon they can keep issuing revision numerals. K1II, K2II etc. Where else are they going to go?
