I like the design. I'm suggesting some small changes.. Remove the spotmatic camera and put a black background and I think that'll make it look really great.. imho

So here it is, my puzzle.

I personally prefer monochrome clothing and designs, and from my experience those are best and easiest sold, spread and worn by most people. (PS and cheaper to do)
Ignoring the rainbow discussion alltogether ;-)

My only suggestion, if not mentioned yet, is to have them made of microfiber. :)

Here's Mine, could be refined a bit (e.g. placement etc.)
EDIT: Woops! Just noticed I missed a contact, that can be fixed in the final version.

Sorry for the double post, but would it be possible to have the old t-shirts and new winners available to purchase indefinately? While the competition is an amazing idea, it would be nice to be able to get a wide selection of Pentax themed apparel that would also help to support the forums.

Hey Ricoh listen up! KonraDarnok has nailed it from a marketing perspective with the brushed aluminum name plate that is consistent with the 645Z. It would brilliantly tie together the 2 professional models in terms of branding. Should you utilize KonraDarnok's idea, might I suggest you send that Pentaxian one of the new full frame cameras at no cost - it's a very low price to pay for such a dynamite marketing idea...

Sorry to hear you having problems.

I bought a pair of RF60s for an upcoming shoot. I did a quick test fire and they were fine. But after your post, I need to make sure these suckers work correctly so that my shoot goes ok. I will let you know as I test my set.

With all due respect, you are going to chastise Pentax and consider leaving, that all it would take is for someone to offer you an easy (and cheap) out, and you're gone? That's fine, and I completely understand if that's legitimate.

But (and here's where the "all due respect" comes into play) looking at your signature and your list of gear/lenses - you haven't even tasted what Pentax has to offer. You seriously have no grounds to speak on with "Pentax is more and more the wrong system to have invested in" when you haven't even used said system!

AND, you have a bunch of all-manual glass (which is awesome) - are you not aware that none of those, were you to find the equivalents in whatever other system you trade to, would be stabilized? NONE of them, yet all of them are right now with Pentax's IBIS.

Again, I am not trying to be rude, and I understand personal decisions and the motivations behind them, but you are being unrealistic. Frankly, you are not qualified to criticize the entirety of a system and declare conclusions that "Pentax can't get their stuff straight anymore" when you have no experience with said system and are not a working professional that uses the tools to feed you and your family.

All because one product is announced and it doesn't agree with your preferences...

Pentax K-S500 - Just for FUN!

KonraDarnok, that is one fine looking camera. They should have made the K-01 with an EVF, a focusing speed as fast as the K-5II and with the same weather sealing at the very least. That would have been a killer camera.

What I would like to see on the front page is maybe a "Recent photos by members" window, where a tiny thumbnail would rotate between some latest photos uploaded on here. This would show guests that the forum is more than just debate and gear

Same here. Love my K-01s. Great colors on those pics.

Quite nice! Looks like a beautiful spot. I can only imagine what a long exposure sunset/sunrise would look like taken at this location.

An absolute piece of garbage...

Well I would like an upgraded K-02 with aps-c or even a Full Frame one. For me, I don't need the viewfinder, I would like the articulated screen, but even that is not of the biggest issue. So if they make one with and one without viewfinder, that would be great. Modern AF could do a lot better I know that. I also would want from tiem to time that the K-01 would be faster and larger buffer and everything, but to be honest coming home with just 30-40 images instead of 300-400 is also something that I value. We do get so lazy in taking images with all these technics that we forget that it isn't about NOT missing any shot, photography is all about the one shot that makes a difference.

I think the K-01 could use quite a bit of improvement -- particularly when compared to current mirrorless cameras (remember it is two years old). If Pentax released it now, with an EVF, auto focus points on the sensor, faster frame rate and better buffer and sold it for, say, 400 dollars, it would be a hot seller. The problem initially was that Pentax popped it out and priced it at 800 dollars. I guess it was a camera for hipsters. Oh well, I got one when it dropped to 250 and I really like it. Stick a DA 15 or DA 40 on it and you have a small, but highly capable camera. I use mine mainly for landscape and portaiture, so nothing that require too zippy an auto focus module.

I just wish people weren't so anti-K-01 because I think Pentax has given up on the line, when I would have continued development on it.

Credentialed Elites don't like it when the unwashed don't agree with what they deem 'a good decision'.

In the pretentious. un-Credentialed pseudo-Elite sub-group, individual behavior elicits an emotional virulent form of 'Othering', such as calling an object of derision An Absolute Piece of Garbage.

TCS probably won't miss me. They surely won't miss the smell of garbage.

As a fairly hardcore K-01 power user I was feeling the need to participate in this thread and toss in my own 2 cents.

When I first watched the video on YouTube I really was quite pissed when Chris straight up called the K-01 "An Absolute Piece of Garbage" since that seemed an awfully severe stance to take. I feel that a camera would have to be quite terrible in almost every conceivable way to deserve that kind of extreme admonishment especially from someone who up to this point has reviewed camera gear in what I considered to be a fairly professional manner. My brother was also taken aback by the statement and suggested that I leave a comment on the video defending the K-01 and recommending that Chris Nicholls actually take the time to look at some of the fine images that have been taken with this so called train wreck of camera but I figured that the Canikon Nazis trolls would jump out of the woodwork and use my comment to attack Pentax in general so I refrained. If you were to agree with his assessment then I guess you might have to consider K-01 owners to be some of the most amazing photographers in the world to be able to take the photos that we do with such an abomination of a camera. ;)

I've owned a K-01 since the end of 2012 and I would probably still choose it over any other MILC option currently available that is under $600. The reasons being that it offers great image quality and it lets me use the wonderful Pentax prime lenses that I have come to love in large part because of this fun and quirky camera.

What Should Pentax Do?

This is what the k-50/500 replacements should look like IMO. Mirrorless, K-mount, k-x / k100d size, integrated EVF, flipping LCD, continuous AF in video, great peaking, DOF priority view mode. It may not be the ultimate small mirrorless Pentax line (which could be GR based?), but it will sell those DA lenses until Pentax has decided what to do next.

New image of K-3!?

Very much spot on! I have repeatedly argued that FF isn't necessarily an upgrade from APS but a step sideways; they are different formats.
The confusion have arisen due to the use of the wrong physics; the physics of a DOF (wide open) measuring device where the thinnes of DOF is the only factor at the expense of everyting else. This has little relevance for photography.
Photography is about reducing four dimension into two. If you apply this correct approach you will notice the following:
- There are no true equivalence between formats in real life.
- Whatever eqivalency you prefer is wholly subjective and it will change from photographer to photographer, but more importantly, from image to image.
