this may not be from much interest to you, but for skateboarders this golden rail is kind of a celebrity.

had my first shot with live subjects today, a firefly larvae. the incredibly professional setup was located in an empty ice-cream box. that macro stuff is interesting i have to admit, i will have to invest some time to improve my pictures.
shot with 35mm Ltd and Sigma 530 super flash.
(note: pictures were edited on a macbookpro, please tell me what you think about colors and stuff, i´m not really sure if its okay on other screens. thank you!)

hello everyone! my sigma 530 DG super is stuck at 17mm, even when the reflector-card isnt out (it should only go to 18mm in that case and also it should be adjustable).
does anyone of you have any experience or idea if or how i could fix it myself or will i have to send it in for repair?
thanks in advance!

thanks for all your input! i too do think its a little too dark, problem is that there are a lot of construction sites along the city right now as well as some not so nice houses and they were really distracting, especially in the left front part, so i figured i´d rather make it darker to let them disappear.
that the cathedral was so well lit was kinda coincidental, i´ll try to reshoot it with more emphasis on that.

its basically my first long exposure cityscape, looking for criticism. i´m afraid that its too dark, even though i like the fact that the cathedral kinda pops out that way. thank you in advance! |

after you´ve set the flash to wireless&slave as seen above, you choose your channel using select (i usually leave it to "1").
then you mount the flash onto the hotshoe, go to flash-modes, choose wireless. then "channel 1" should appear on your screen, camera and flash are now synchronized. remove the flash from the hotshoe (do not turn it off!). the AF-light should be blinking now.
then mount the flash on a tripod or whatever. pop up your on-camera flash, and there you go.
attention: it doesnt work very well in daylight.
(one example here, i just had my first tries with this as well: IMGP0286 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!)

i´ve been trying some startrails lately too, one thing that i personally would try to change would be a little more exposure of the trees in #2.

hello everyone. i have never had a film camera, since i am a child of the digital age, but i sure would like to try one out. i have several m lenses that would work on film bodies, now the question is: could you recommend one?
i would like to get one, that has a hmm.. dirty look? if you get what i mean? not that look that digital bodies have, but rather a warm dirty look. now i am a complete newbie on this, so maybe i am on the complete wrong direction and should rather concentrate on appropriate film for this look, but maybe some of you guys could give me some tips/hints.
thanks a lot in advance!

Hello everyone, i´ve got a quick question (at least i hope so..)
has anyone ever used this flash-gun for sports- or high-speed-photography (i´m thinking of skateboarding, bmx and stuff like that...)?
how are its wireless-capabilities (controlled by on-camera-flash?)
if this topic has been discussed, links are alright... sorry to bother you in that case.
thanks a lot in advance...

first of all, thanks a lot for all your input. basically, i had already settled for the DA 35/2.4, but since my local pentax-partner had some shipping delay, i started thinking, and as all of you might have faced in real life: thats where the madness sets in haha.
I guess this one will be just fine for me, especially since the Sigma really seems like a bit of a brick around my neck.
I´ll give you an update as soon as i get my 35mm, and if necessary, i will blame you guys haha.
