Hello, up for sale are my Zeiss lenses for Pentax mount.
I am the original owner, and they have been well taken care of. The lenses have always been protected with a filter but they will not be included in the sale. The lenses are virtually like new, No dust, scratches (except for 35mm as described), oil, fungus. 100% working well.
All lenses come with original box, lens caps and rear caps.
Unfortunately with work I have not had the opportunity to use them often and instead of sitting in storage inside a pelican case, hopefully i can find someone who will be able to enjoy them more than I have been able to. Shipping with Insurance is included in the price.
Feel free to contact me with any questions.
I don't have much feedback on here but forum member hakea has purchased items off me from ebay. My ebay id is ryanfall. Thanks Are you the original owner of the item being sold?

Hello everyone. I was wondering if any of you can tell me about the audio quality recorded from the K-01 and your set ups.
I was interested in using the K-01 for videos because of focus peaking and being a bit lighter, but I would also like to hear about your thoughts about the audio gain control and if you can hear any hissing, etc.
Thanks

Hello Gabro
If you don't mind me asking what do you want to use the flashes for?
I have both the Metz 58 AF2 and the youngnuo. I agree with maxfield for on camera use you need the flash to have tilt and swivel, its very annoying carrying a camera and a flash attached to a cord. Another thing is I would advise on getting the most powerful flash you can afford, you can always decrease the output power.
However I mainly use them off camera and find the results more pleasing. But I have time to compose, etc so if you were looking at doing event style photography I would recommend the Metz just because it is P-TTL. It also has functions like rear curtain sync which you can't do with the youngnuo. Also if you wanted to use the metz in manual mode you also can.
For everything apart from event photography I would highly recommend the youngnuo, for their price point and as a starting flash, though it can be a steep learning curve, it is a valuable investment.
With the youngnuo. They work fine with no problems on camera. They are slower to use because they are fully manual but you get consistent results because you are changing the settings if you use the camera on manual mode. I have had a small issue with one of my units not being able to control the flash zoom with one of the buttons but if i cycle through the zoom range with the other, it still works.
With Metz its a very well built flash and the difference in build is obvious. It has a lot more functions however most I do not use. Most times I wish I knew about the youngnuos before buying the metz as it would have saved me lots of dollars but in saying that it is nice to have a fully capable flash with all the bells and whistles.

Hello Mike,
I think you have misunderstood me. I am not changing system and getting a full frame, I have a K7 and will continue using it till it dies. All I was saying it would be great if Pentax offered a FF so one Pentax can entice enthusiast in our direction and two provide an option to pentax uses who want a FF. Maybe I put this in the wrong thread.
I aslo have a MX film camera which I am able to use my lenses on hence also the need for the aperture rings. It does provide a different look, hence why I can understand the want of FF.
If you look at the thread Some Full-frame shots & thoughts, there are a few users there that have made the switch and this is why I would like to see a FF pentax to give those users another choice rather than switching.
I don't think you need to throw Are you going to buy the €7000 new 560mm telescopic tele prime that was just announced? No, I didn't think so, in my face. No i wouldn't but I would like the Sigma 150 macro which I can't find in a pentax mount. It's all about options and I'm just saying its more limited with Pentax.
I have a metz 58 but I would have loved to buy a pentax flash but they seem long in the tooth compared to the metz offering. This drives sales away from pentax, which could be used to generate revenue for R&D. My point there is that to entice ppl to buy into pentax requires more than just offering a FF camera, it also requires creating gear that appeals to users other than existing pentax users.
Yes I know a camera is just a tool and that people see and create. But at least give pentax users an option to select the tool that they want.
Take care

Hello all
For me, I am happy with aps-c, I prefer the working distances of the crop that aps-c gives me when working with ppl. However I won't be buying more k mounts because atm there is no other option than aps-c which is limiting. The only lens that I bought that wasn't full frame capable was the 15mm ltd because I wanted a wide angle, the rest however are full frame capable and generally have aperture rings just in case pentax does not survive, so I can still use these lenses on other manufacturers bodies with adapters.
Without a full frame people's only options are too look at expensive fast lenses to achieve the separation from the background generally desired for portrait work. Many users here have switched and have purchased relatively cheap lenses like the nikon 50 and 85 f1.8 to achieve the same blur as our pentax fa limiteds. With the introduction by Nikon of the d600 it does introduce something new into the market. A big brand offering a cheap FF. Its aim was to get market share of the enthusiast market and it will mostly because it is FF, not that people need it but they can say I have a FF.
Well I feel that all of us here want Pentax to survive and grow. Many of the third party manufacturers have stopped supporting the K mount. So how does this bode for pentax with a limited amount of lenses available? I believe its hard to attract a larger source of buyers as enthusiast will look and probably see fewer things that interest them.
I believe with a Pentax FF, the FA LTDs will be fast enough to achieve most of the effects that people are after. However this is not the only problem. The flash sync of 1/180th is a problem for strobist and with the lack of fast lenses this exacerbates the problem. The dated flashes on offer also make it hard for someone like me who uses flashes often to decide to say yes to pentax. Admittedly I use the flash on manual mode 95% of the time but some functions like rear curtain sync can not be done with yn 560s.
So why do people want full frame. Maybe mostly because the FF on offer atm allow users to do things with their equipment that Pentax doesn't offer right now.
Well my two cents
Take care

Hello Gabriele
The Zeiss ZK 25 is discontinued but you may be able to find it at Pop Flash, a US store that sells online, though prices have gone up since I purchased mine.
I find that the 24/25mm is better suited to a walk around lens rather than the 31. The equivalent 47mm of the 31 is a little to tight for my preference as a walk around lens.
With the 31mm when using it for portraiture photos I usually use it for 3/4 length shots but very useable for full length, just DOF increases.
And i wouldn't be concerned about having a split screen, LV is a lot more convenient and in the dark situations it is very hard to actually use the split screen. I have a standard kats eye and in low light conditions, if critical focus is needed LV is definitely my go to option.
Well hope this helps. Take care

I was wondering if any of yuongnuo 560 users have tried trailing sync with a pentax K7? And if it works?
Thanks

Hello all
For all those that own a collection of lenses that don't often get used, do you do anything to maintain them eg take them out, move around the aperture settings, move the focus ring, etc or do you let them sit till you need them?
Thanks

Thanks everyone for replying. I have found this very educational and am quite surprised about the complexities behind all this... I thought it was going to be a simple yes or no :)
Thanks again and definitely soo much more I have to learn.

Hello all.
I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the compression effects of lenses are different on the two systems? Ie would you see the same amount of compression with a 50mm on digital as on film?
Thanks

Hello and how are you going?
Just wondering if anyone uses two or more camera systems? ie Pentax and Canon, etc and whether or not you find it feasible?
I love my Pentax gear and wouldn't give it up but I've started looking at getting a Ricoh m mount system and voigtlander lenses to use as a travel camera. The 15mm and the 35mm are the lenses that I hand in mind and been thinking of it because of the size factor, they're soo small. I know that the DA 15 Ltd is small and I own one but the voigts are something else.
However it is another expense and was just wondering if anyone else has invested in glass from multiple companies and do you feel that its worth it.
Thanks

Just a question for V5 owners. How does the build quality feel? Does it feel solid or plasticky?
Thanks

Hello wehemm,
the numbers f3.5-5.6 are telling you the maximum aperture numbers that can be selected on your lens. So at 18mm the smallest f stop number you can select is 3.5, however you can generally select various f number all the way up to f22 at 18mm. At 55mm, the maximum aperture you can select is 5.6, and you can select all the way to f38 I believe.
I would suggest using google or the beginners corner and haviing a read about lenses.
Hope this clears some things for you.

Hello, I own both 31mm Ltd and a Zeiss T* 35/2. I have found that the image quality between the two very comparable. Manual focus is a joy on the Zeiss and I found it easier to manual focus with the Zeiss than the Pentax. Build quality, there's nothing between them both are great. Admittedly I find that I use the 31mm more often because of autofocus but if I had all the time for the shoot I would prefer to use the Zeiss. if you wanted a comparison between a 31mm Ltd and a Zeiss 35mm f2 I can take some sample photos for you, just PM and when I doing a shoot for friends next I'll take both along. I shoot my portraits outdoors though and can't really show you studio results.
