Now I've been on a weekend trip in Tallinn with a Sigma 35 Art. It's a great lens, sharp images at all apertures and very corrected.
...
But I didn't really fall for it, is it to perfect? =) I feel a bit silly but it's like it got no soul, I don't get the same feeling like when I shot with my K35...
And it's soo big, and heavy, it's a wonder of engineering in another way than the pentax lenses, no I really appriciate the compactness of pentax LTD series.
I will look more into FA35/2.0 and FA31/1.8...

Yeah the price of it is a lot more compelling too.. The only gripe I have about it is if I do decide to upgrade to fullframe I won't be able to carry it over, or is it on the "working on fullframe-list" ? Have to check that up!
Edit: Doesn't seem to work, Heavy vignetting

It seems my friends girlfriend have an Sigma 35/1,4 which I can borrow for the weekend, perfect!
Then I get a chance to test the rendering and bulk of the lens. I really like the image the K35 produce, íf I could I would just digitalize the lens and use it forever!
But the missrate is a bit to big right now...

Oh! I didn't realize it's that small! I have a lens hood on my K35 so it's the same size.. :D

Ok, yeah that´s one factor I really havn´t thought of, the size and weight! One of the great qualitys of the K35 is the size. And I have no problem with only 3,5 in aperture so 1,4 or 1,8 doesn't really matter.
I'm trying to find your comparative test Digitalis but I can't find it, can you point me in the right direction?

Hello, some background info:
For about a year ago I got hold of an Pentax K35/3,5 and I freaking love that lens, the colors, the IQ and the build! So much win :)
The small problem with the lens is that its manual and "no" lightmetering, I understand how to meter the lens and have done so with great results for a year now, we dont have to go in to that here.
I would really want a modern version of that lens, or as close to it as I can get, since I got it my 15/4 Ltd and DA* 60-250 have taken the backseat...
I guess the obvious question is, which lens do I get, the outlandishly expensive 31 ltd och the $650 (In Sweden) cheaper Top Tested Sigma with bigger aperture? But there is no reason for me to buy the Sigma if I won't use it.

Nice to see it's not only me who loves this lens :)
I was really suprised by how well it renders blue to, as I see many of you mentioning.
Just bought a new car and I really like how it looks through the lens :)

Got this lens in a collection with a Chinon CE-4 among other lenses, havn't even tried the other ones yet, not even glansed at them..
I thought I would try this lens on my K3, just for fun, se how bad it was... Well was I wrong! I really like the rendering and colors, and it's sharp too.
I like it so much that I have commited to a project during my parentleave, 6 months (thank you Sweden) with a picture/day becoming a photo book at the end.
I will leave some pictures here, this was just the first snaps..

Right now my Pentax 15 ltd, Pentax 60-250/f4, Pentax 50/1.8, Tamron 90 Macro and Tamron 17-50/2,8 get a well earned rest, only problem I have is that the lens doesn't communicate the aperture..

Thanks! Well it's quite nice to just pop out from the house and take som nice shots, this is in a rather bright part of the city to, so would ofcource be better if I got out of town a bit, but with kids the time isn't always there.
The bright mode is really good for Aurora I think, even on days where there not that bright the accumulated shot becomes something really interesting..
