This photo is absolute garbage :D :D :D
Sorry, that was easy.
If the subject is the color pattern, how about a vertical 2:3 crop of the right side?

Quite hyped about the possibility of a high-performance waterproof compact which they seem to be contemplating (submersible GR3 or equivalent would be awesome).
Wait and wait and maybe see :)

Yes, I am another adept.
It's my most used lens on the K-1 (more shots than 28-105), and it's excellent for any purpose. I always use it without hood, as I noticed it blackened the corners, and the front lens is fairly recessed in the barrel and protected anyway.
Never used it on APS, I had a A 50 that I liked on my K-3ii back then.

Indeed, update done on K-1 here and operation seems perfectly fine. I haven't tested the new astrotracer (and have no intention to).

Now I wish I had been more patient... The one I got from MPB was more costly and less good-looking :(
Good luck with the sale! At this price it should go quickly ;)

Indeed, just get one and enjoy, there is no turning back.
If you are too concerned about the price new, try and find a good second hand opportunity, maybe right here in the marketplace section.

Lyon area (France) Item Description
HD Pentax-FA 35mm f/2 lens.
Like-new optical, mechanical and cosmetic condition.
Smooth and reliable operation. No issue to report. I am the original owner, bought new in 2019 (invoice provided) and always handled with care.
Comes with its 2 original caps, hood, box and papers.
This is the new "HD" version.
I used it satisfactorily on K-1, it's a relatively cheap, very light and compact solution for someone wanting a high quality moderate wide angle.
Only selling it because I was too tempted by a 31 Ltd. (still not convinced by the image quality difference, but I prefered the wider angle).

Unpopular opinion: get rid of the lenses you don't use or don't like.
Then and only then, with time, see what you are missing (range, speed, etc) and buy the lens that fits the bill :)
I'm saying this because everything changes, we change (as photographers) and so do our interests and priorities. Trying to buy an all-in-one perfect kit is an illusion. I know, I tried (several times actually). Lenses should be bought for a purpose, not to fill a perceived line-up gap.
Therefore, my central piece of advice is the keep the 18-135 (as you say you're satisfied with it), and the Tamron that you say you want to keep, maybe one more... but sell the 55-300 (you don't use it) and maybe also the Sigmas. It won't make you much wealthier, but simplifying your kit can provide a better connection with the gear that's left :)
Few inputs as an aside:
- between the DFA 24-70 and the DA 20-40 Limited, on a K-3ii, my choice would be very quickly made for the smaller lens as the DFA is really huge!
- you state no interest in primes, but I would still strongly suggest to get a cheap 35 or 50mm (below €$100), preferably manual (A series are the most convenient) and experiment with it. The tactile pleasure and the image quality are really something else!

As far as I can tell, the new "OM System TG-7" basically is the same camera as the Olympus TG-6 with a new logo. The only real relevant difference I could find is the addition of the USB-C instead of the old micro-USB. I know because I'm in the market for one ;)
To me, its key advantage over the Ricoh is the ability to save Raw files, it's VERY useful underwater.
So I don't know that the Ricoh will be significantly updated. I guess they will keep re-releasing the same camera under a slightly different dress when a component has to be changed. Or unlocking the possibility to save Raw, that would be a game-changer.
By the way, does anyone know of a better quality waterproof camera, such as a 1'' or so, interchangeable lens or not? I can't seem to find any, since the Nikon 1 line was discontinued...

And here I thought it was a clever contraction of CHecking IMages on your Pentax.
Oh well, the English language and its Internet globish newspeak derivates never cease to amaze.

I used to have the Metz 44, but only used it on the hotshoe. At the time the key advantages compared to the Pentax were the ability to swivel and the cost (lower than the AF360FGZ at the time). The power difference exists in theory but I'm not sure how relevant it is in practice.
It's a fairly basic flash with little control. For your use case, and if the Pentax is cheaper, I would probably recommend the Pentax.
I eventually replaced the Metz 44 by another Metz, the M400 (last model they marketed before closing shop), an amazingly compact and convenient unit :)

My bad, the more protective law inluding all electronic appliances and mentioning the 5-years is actually French only. And even here, it was as well not in force at the time of K-1 sales.
It seems all that's left is to sympathise to the OP's mishap (brings back painful personal memories of a beloved K-5).

To me, that sounds like an illegal situation in the EU. Manufacturers are supposed to have spare parts available for any model currently in sales, and for 5 years after end of sales if I'm not mistaken (or is it just in France?)
For an original K-1, it is indeed more than 5 years (barely) since replacement by K-1 II. But for any part shared between the two models, that reply does not sound acceptable.
By the way, the picture should have some kind of "sensitive public warning" as it put me in deep distress!
Best of luck in your endeavours :)

Hi all, sorry Mod for the continued off-topic, but if I can save only one tourist that will have been worth it :)
France, together with Spain and Italy, are among the most visited countries in the world. I mean, levels that probably aren't matched anywhere in North America. That's great, because we get a lot of $$$ this way, that we can then spend on camera gear and stuff.
However, the only issue is that basically every last darn tourist wants to see the exact same darn spots... And here is the scoop: when everyone wants to experience the same authentic visit... It quickly becomes un-authentic. That's why Paris was ranked "most disappointing destination" or something equivalent a few years ago (can't find the reference anymore, sorry).
So, to the point:
- France is not Paris and Paris is not France! Parisians are French, but the French are not all Parisians.
- Come visit France, you will surely be welcome especially if you make a moderate effort to adapt to local culture and learn a few greeting words!
- Visit Brittany or Côte d'Azur in the spring, the Alps in summer, Lyon in the autumn and Marseille or Toulouse in the winter. Go to the vineyards in Burgundy around Dijon (the capital of gastronomy), visit the less-renowed castles of the Loire valley, or endless other possibilities... Get OFF the beaten paths!!!
- Take your time and enjoy food & wine, one thing for sure we know how to do :)
- Remember that the visa or waiver that you got for France allows you to access the rest of the Schengen area (including all neighbouring countries). Take advantage and extend your trip geographically!
But:
- Avoid crowded places and times such as Côte d'Azur in summer, the Alps in the winter, Paris... all the time (yes I know you have to fly there, spend a day or 2 if you have to but then, get on a train)
- Avoid "tourist-extorsion" restaurants and services. It has become so easy to weed out the really bad places with Google or Tripadvisor now, even when you're not a local.
- Do not be condescending jsut because you're talking to French (some Americans have been known to show this trait) and DO NOT follow the advice given higher up on the thread
These recommendations can easily be translated to your Spanish and Italian friends, including the bits about cuisine... Avoid Venice and Cinque Terre, Barcelona or the Costa del Sol in summer etc...
And, back to the picture: it gives a cosy feeling, but I am a little bit disturbed by the distortion and swirling bokeh, not letting me really rest my eyes.
Anyway, makes me want to try out the Scottish hospitality (in between its landscapes of course) in the future!
