What will make me buy a Pentax FF?
1] Lower resolution and thus much better DR and high ISO performance. A la Sony A7S
2] non crippled K mount so that old non "A lenses" don't need stopping down

Sigh. it's amusing the amount of people who seem to claim authority on other photographer's needs.

I don't want a crippled K-mount to avoid stop down metering for old non A lenses

An entry level feature? Someone who thinks the Pentax K-3 and NIkon D800 are entry level cameras is telling people they are in the wrong neighbourhood? ---------- Post added 07-02-15 at 01:30 ----------
How can you answer this without violating the forum's T&Cs :)

You're missing the point I think. It's about the convenience. A built in flash is incredibly useful. It's put me off a bit

A very good point. The camera you have with you is the best one for the job :)

Can you kindly point me to where it's clear that the camera reads the GPS location from an external device via Wi-fi and writes it into the EXIF? Thanks :)

This is my thinking as well. I have many Pentax FF lenses. The ethos of great high ISO performance instead of the silly MP race ha always been something I've advocated. Sony has been innovative enough to provide it with the A7S.

I'm afraid that isn't true in the slightest.
Digital audio is capable of technical audio quality that far exceeds any analog audio recording system is capable of in both frequency response, distortion levels and dynamic range. I don't know of any analog system that can match, for example, 24bit 96kHz. which has a freq response of 48kHz, dynamic range of 144dB and distortion not even your dog can hear :)

Actually if the results are consistently bad, even after 2-3 monitors a year ( !!! ) then it's not the monitors it's something you are doing wrong. You'll never improve your image editing if you keep blaming it on the tools. ---------- Post added 28-07-14 at 07:05 ----------
Calibrated yes, but there's no need for such a resolution.
Yes there's a reason for this. A decent image will look great on anything. Publishers and record companies use cheap sound systems to audition music for a similar reasons

Like any software LR4 doesn't change over time. I still use LR4.1 and it's exactly the same as wehn I first installed it.

how do you know waht someone else determines "useable"
And yes in practical terms 400,000 will be noisy but it raises the nar and lower ISOs will be better than cameras with a lower high ISO limit.
You could say the ISO51200 of the K-5 isn't usable by the same logic, but i the Sony si 2 stops better DR than the K-5 then I think it's a great .:) ---------- Post added 10-04-14 at 00:08 ----------
Oh dear. ---------- Post added 10-04-14 at 00:13 ----------
Why don't you ask them?
Besides hardware amplification OR software amplification it's STILL amplification. It's likely that hardware amplification above a certain gain value is better quality than the equivalent hardware ( analogue ) amplifiviation.
.... as an enthusiast I can answer you question, and the answer is I don't want to have to mess around exposure compensating to do the ISO gain in post processing when doing it in camera is just as good. Why complicate photography when there is no need? ---------- Post added 10-04-14 at 00:14 ---------- What happened there? All my posts merged into one. how strange. I didn't use any multiple quote feature
