I tend to travel with 4-6 prime lenses and am looking for a better solution to transport them. Right now they are packed in individual bags and fly around in my larger camera backpack as they are to small to be held in place. I was thinking about getting a smaller bag or box that can hold 5-6 smaller prime lenses (e.x. m 50mm 1.7, 21m DA). Any advice or inspiration is welcome.

Has Ricoh/Pentax considered a Monochrom version of their K-3 flagship or any other alternative model, such as infrared?

Instead of giving weak hints, Pentax Sweden/Scandinavia should get the shops in Sweden to show Pentax products.
I went the other day into a shop here in Stockholm to have a look at the K5iis. They had a K5 and a K-r on display, bottom left.
It took the guy 10 minutes to find the K5iis in his storage room. Later he wanted to sell me a D7100 or a Canon D7.
He kept telling me that the others have more megapixels and that he would chose them over the Pentax ....
Btw: I was really pleased to see again how tiny this K5iis body is compared to its competitors, and still pulling out better quality, despite having less megapixels.

I agree with this. It seems like Ricoh wants to get some order into the product line, by giving the cameras a somewhat coherent name. I am just wondering, why they didnt call the K-30 straight K-50.

I dont think that Pentax is doomed, but they may not play the role on the professional marked that they used too long time ago, or that we hope for.

I shoot raw anyway.
But what about the DPI, the default is set to 75. I always thought that for printing 150 would be the minimum.

Hi,
I want to export images for stock photography and thus need the best possible quality jpeg export setting in Aperture (mac). I understand, that I will have to export the original size and should not change the pixel size, right?
The jpeg quality is set to 12 instead of 10. What about the dpi, gamma and colour scheme?
I shoot with a K-7.

APS-C may sell well at the moment, but I wouldn't be surprised to read in ten years, that Pentax missed the trend of FF digital cameras.

What about lens profiles stored in the camera. Program a lens setting in the camera for each of your K/M/M42 lenses and when you put on a lens, the body cannot read just choose it from the monitor, like currently with the focal length.
I am also pro a de-crippled K-mount.

Ask them about there little/ bad costumer communication on products. Specially in the upper segment of their line some people like to plan their investments, therefore roadmaps are very important.

Just a rebadged K5, a tiny Q10 that noone takes serious and two lenses that I have no use for...?
These Leica hustle and bustle sounds interesting, though probably to expensive anyway.

Totally agree. Apart from the fact that the 560mm is not at the center of the Bell-curve. But all the birders out there (among which the K5 is a very popular Kamera) will be extremly happy about that lens and I can imaging that pentax will sell quite a few!

If the K-3 (or what ever successor) would have been ready for the market, they wouldn't had to pull out a K5II.
I can well imaging a meeting at Pentax HQ in July:
Boss: MITUMI, will that f***ing K-3 be weady for photokina?
Engineer Mitumi: Sowy Boss, K-3 no weady....
Boss: Okay, than lets put some minor upgwades into the K-5 and welabel it!
Enegeneer Mitumi: Ok Boss.
Or they just decided to keep the K-5 anyway in their line-up, even if there will be a new flagship coming soon.

I am not, but it works like this in pretty much every company out there. You don't have to be an insider to guess what is going on in a company that sells this kind of products.
