The last battery is the proprietary Pentax lithium ion, also a battery I bought new and relatively recently (less than a year ago). Asking $25 plus shipping.

On WR pentax lenses there is no asterisk about using a front filter to complete the seal. Many of Canon's L lenses do say a filter is necessary to complete the weather sealing...what is the design change here that makes a filter necessary for canon but not Pentax lenses?

Sorry for the delay! ---------- Post added 09-23-11 at 11:21 PM ---------- Sorry for the lack of quality, taken on iphone, but point is that the lens is lightly used, in really nice condition, and no damage to the front or back elements. Thanks!

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing Item for Sale
Pentax DA* 50-135mm lens for sale (or trade for 100WR Macro + cash) Asking Price
$750 OBO Item Location
Seattle (United States) Item Description
For sale is a DA* 50-135 lens that is in nice condition and functioning great. I am the second owner of this lens, and know it has never had a hiccup. I have always had it protected with a front filter. It comes with the original box, paperwork, front and back caps, and hood (everything except the soft case). It is a great piece of glass, but I do not get enough use out of it to justify the cost. I would also be interested in a trade for the 100WR macro. Photos to be posted soon. Payment with paypal in gift mode or +3%. Are you the original owner of the item being sold?

Hello, I have a 50-135 in really nice condition and good working SDM that has never had a hiccup. It comes with everything except the soft case. Great lens, I don't get enough use out of it to justify owning it though. I'm looking for $750 shipped in the US or + a bit if you are in Canada as it sounds (via paypal gift mode or +3%). Cheers -LE

I think the ticket will be extra batteries, but I am reading such mixed reviews on getting third party batteries and their quality.
I see the car charger is mentioned, of course I will be on an atoll though so no car...am I missing something basic in how these work or is a car necessary as the name implies? No roads or vehicles where I will be.

Hi all,
I will be on a remote atoll without electricity for a few weeks with two K-7s. I will be shooting a lot so won't get by on a battery in each camera. Is my best bet to buy a bunch of extra batteries or is there any cool solar type lithium ion battery charging device that might have more sense than a heap of batteries?
Thanks! -LE

Hi all, a friend recently filmed a fantastic fly fishing DVD called Tapam with his canon 5D. I talked to him about the process, and he explained that of course all the focusing was manual. Pentax of course does not have manual focus in video mode. I don't expect to become a film maker, but if I get into video at all how capable are the Pentax DSLRs without manual for video making? I ask from the point of view of someone who has not done any video work thus far, so I want to know how important manual is. (I have a k-7 which will eventually be a k-5) Thanks all!

Is the shutter blue issue documented by falconeye and others enough of an issue with the K-7 to make one steer clear of this camera? How can I best test mine for this issue? I was hoping to be happy with the K-7 for around 3 years before going to the K-5, but reading all the threads of various circumstances inducing this defective trait sounds like a good shot at 1/100 with the K-7 could be ruined as a result. Thanks all for any input

DA* 135 F1.8 seems way too similar to DA* 50-135 F2.8 for a next lens when there are much more gaping holes to fill like a DA* 10-16 IMHO

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing Item for Sale
Pentax DA* 60-250 for DA* 50-135 + cash Asking Price
trade + cash Item Location
Seattle, WA Item Description
Hi all, I have the DA* 60-250 lens and it is no doubt a phenomenal lens, but I am primarily a fly fisherman and secondarily a photographer, so I have to carry a lot of gear and be able to have a camera hanging on my back all day to get that quick shot and then go back to fishing. As a result I think that for me the 50-135 would be a better option.
I am not interested in a copy of the lens that has ever shown any signs of SDM issues whatsoever, including lenses that were sent back to pentax to have the motors replaced. Preferably looking for a lens less than a year old.
My 60-250 is in really nice condition and comes with everything as if new. I purchased it from a forum member who was the original owner, and the lens is around a year old I believe. I am thrilled with the lens from the trip I took it on, but would like to lighten my pack.
Please note I am not desperate to make this trade and so will need the right deal to justify the switch. I would like in cash around 75% of the difference in retail value of the two lenses, or about $560 (adorama price for 60-250 is $1649, and 50-135 is $899....amazon was another $50 more expensive than adorama for 60-250 and could not find anywhere else where 60-250 could currently be ordered for cheaper including b&h).
