Hello!
For years, the camera, windows 10 and S-SW123 worked correctly but from one moment the program no longer recognizes the 645D camera. I suspect that the windows 10 update has changed something. Windows 10 recognizes the camera and offers the option to download pictures. So the cable works, usb works. I tried different cables, different usb ports, same story. S-SW123 works just can't see the camera. Restart several times for all participants. The only thing I haven't been able to do is reinstall the S-SW123 because I've been careless and lost the installation disc. 645D is with the latest 1.33 firmware. Is there anyone running the 645D in a windows 10 environment using the S-SW123 program and would be willing to try and see if this kit still works together. Thank you! Andrus

Unfortunately, the hood cannot be removed. But we can see it as a restriction that is the beginning of creativity :-)

No, this lens belongs to my employer, but I can borrow it. A few years ago, we ordered the DFA version, but it was discontinued after ordering, so we got the DA version. With a film camera and full aperture, the vignette is pretty big. From an artistic point of view, I like it.
Thanks for watching,
Andrus

Hi! I tried out of curiosity how Da 645 25mm works combination with original Pentax 645 camera and I will show the results here as well. I used aperture F 11. The vignette was even larger at the larger openings. All the best. Andrus

Luckily I've got Pk Tether to work again. It turned out that the camera must have a memory card for this program to work. I remembered that Pk Tether did not need a memory card in the camera. ---------- Post added 6th Sep 2017 at 07:39 ---------- Thanks Adam. I solved my problem now. Got the PkTether work again but I I'm going to just in case to buy IT1 too. PkTether freezes in the middle of the workshop sometimes.

Can anyone tell me do this program work with Windows 10 with latest updates, and is this program still available anywhere in Europe? I used so far Pk Tether but after Windows update it does not recognize Pentax 645D anymore. I use the tethering when I teach photography. That's why I need it. Thanks for the answer, although I do believe that it's hard to find anyone who uses this program.

Yes, I know how frustrating it can be. I connect camera via USB 3. But I can`t understand how can I be the only one who can get the program work. I tried another computer today which runs on Windows 10. And I got it work. I made printscreen again. I try to put link here where you see bigger image http://andruskannel.planet.ee/pk_triggercord/pktriggergord_win10_k3ii.jpg
All relevant windows open. Pay attention to the red lines, URL address where I got program. Reference to the link where I got the program. Version that works is 0.84.02 It is said that Windows need GTK2 but I do not know what that means. Perhaps it is important. After download go to program directory and open the program by using the file named pktriggercord not pktriggercord-cli
My observations: When I connect camera then camera lcd flashes three times and after that connect. In windows 10 the program was not able set shutterspeed. Must be determined in the camera. In windows 8.1 when I restart camera AND THE PROGRAM two or three times I am able to set shutterspeed inside program too. In windows 10 program crashed once. I have to use a work situation thoroughly, to say how stable or suitability for use with this program is.

Hi TonyW.
This may not be what you're looking for but it seems that Bowens has new XMS flash heads supporting high speed flash for Pentax too. I'm not very well researched how it works but if it works then this is very good. Because there is not lot of high speed flash options for Pentax.

Here is mine http://www.andruskannel.planet.ee/ I made websait myself. I used for that Expression Web 4 and Notepad. Website design looks simple due to my limited skill and that I like keep things simple. There are some commercial works and some that are not. Sorry, links and captions is written in the Estonian language. And one gallery is empty at the moment. All the pictures are taken with different film and digital Pentax cameras. You are welcome to see the pictures.

I took the time and made a few pictures to illustrate the story. The link to the images http://www.andruskannel.planet.ee/shutter_vignet Sorry for the boring images. Just studio white wall.
I had not been able to generate problem with Elinchrom and skyport. My most used combo. Worked properly today. Sometimes I see very little black stripes with that combo too. So i took my first radio trigger system-Microsync Digital that I bought many years ago and where I was exposed to this problem for the first time and there they were, those black stripes. I tried to different cameras and all suffered the problem. Flash head I used was Bowens Esprit because Microsync need adapter to connect with Elinchrom.
And I did the test where I connected Microsync Digital trigger to camera sync terminal using the provided cable and that did not solve the problem. So, I can't blame the bad touch in hot shoe.
So my conclusin is that if you see those black stripes ( that is shutter) and you use radio trigger, then radio trigger causes the problem. I'm a photographer, not a physicist so that's why I can't explain why so. And the only solution that I know of - bad solution- use synk cable or optically- flash in hotshoe or good solution, buy a very good radio system.

In some reason Pentax shutters do not work well with radio triggers. I remember I already needed to use 1/160 with my Pentax k20 to avoid that shutter vigneting (black stripe ). Pentax k20 sync speed is 1/180. Same time with same studio canon camera did not suffer the problem at all. I do not remember specific Canon model. And now all Pentax K-5 cameras I use need 1/125 or 1/160 to avoid shutter vignet. And if I use pc sync cable or flash mounted in hotshoe I can use 1/180 without vignet. So i believe if you use cable then you are able to use 1/125 with your 645Z. But yes there is something specific not only with your 645z but all Pentax cameras that i tried. And yet there are some radio triggers that works better with Pentax and others not so well. Just try cable and you see it. Pentax camera do not like radio trigger. And I know the cable is not solution for you. That`s why I just live with that 1/100 when I use 645D

Hi Frederic.
Do you use a radio trigger? If so try to use pc sync cord cable or try to open other flash(es) optically with flash mounted camera hot shoe instead. Does this solve your problem. If so radio triggering causes the problem. I use original 645D in studio and forced to use 1/100 if I use camera with elinchrome flashes and skyport radio trigger.

No, but I'm going to try tomorrow with another K5 camera. Instead of a ND filter if you`re doing airy landscapes or traffic citiscapes? Thanks for the clue, how to add a picture. Did not know this.

This feature is very handy and useful to me when I am too lazy to carry studio lightings or there is no space for those bulky studio flashes that I have. If there is no space for flasheads, tripods, cables, softboxes and so on – small bathrooms or other small Interiors.
Very good is to do the reproduction. I am often invited to the exhibition halls to take pictures and if the Flash is allowed, then this is a very handy technique. Place camera on a tripod and then I walk one side to the painting or whatever this is and open camera with remote control and I repeat it other side.
I have a relaxing task to students in the media what they always enjoy. One is the photographer. On the other hands I give Af-540fgz flash and the third is a model. In between there will be cooperation and synergy and lot of fun.
These three examples, perhaps open up where and when I use multi exposure and flash. I've uploaded image to illustrate if there is no space to studio flashes and one small 540 fgz can be very useful. But since I have not added images here before I do not know if I did it correctly. ---------- Post added 12th Jan 2015 at 21:55 ----------

Thank your reply fs999. Do your K-5 and Metz 48 AF works in Sl mode combined with multiple exposure ( 2 exposures set up by camera menu ) Auto Ev adjustment- it have to work both way- checked and unchecked. Resolved the problem for me. Although I think there is a problem with the camera, I got it work. I'm going to have to choose between more than two exposure to get flash to work.

Thank you Caver. Interesting. I try it here with classic K-5 and it does not work. Onboard flash set to be controller, thats how I use the combination too. First flash works fine, second I see how the flash work but the camera does not synchronize more so I can see in the picture only first flash. Multiple exposure works, but not the second flash. But it is good to know that K5 II that thing works. I thought that these two cameras are behaving in the same way. ---------- Post added 11th Jan 2015 at 16:19 ---------- Thank you Caver I got it work. I read that you used 4 exposures (set up the multiple exposure menu ) and I changed just in case the 4 too from default 2 and voila it works. But there is bug it does not work for some reason if there is 2 exposures selected in menu. I've been using K20 so far and borrowed K5 just to know If this camera is suitable for me or not.

Hi,
It works with Pentax K 10 and K 20 but not with Pentax K 5. I tryed of the five different cameras with latest firmware 1.16 It looks like the camera as a defect that have not reported yet. At least I have not found anything about it on google.
If anyone can confirm or refute my findings It would help me a lot. This feature is very important my photography. I wish to buy Pentax K 5 II but may forced to buy K 3.
Thanks for the help.
