SMC K 28/3.5 is a great lens. I doubt many of our fellow Australian friends have seen this listing.

Yes, the bundle is worth even without this lens. So whether to get it or not the issue, but just curious to know what people have to say about this lens. Thank you Sagitta.

I know there isn't anything exciting about this lens, but just curious to know if anybody has an idea how good the lens is. Probably this -- https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-slr-lens-discussion/184062-tou-fiv...0mm-4-0-a.html -- is the only thread having mentions about this lens where it is stated that it is inferior to "Pentax K 200/4", which is not surprising at all.
I do not own one but may get a copy as part of a bundle.
Do you have any idea what it is or do you think it is not worth investigating?

Both of you are probably aware that the buy/sell requests are supposed to be posted only in the section meant for that. Thought of just reminding it, no intention to police ;)

Hi AquaShankar,
There is no reason for it not to work on K200D since Pentax has not changed the mount fro many decades. You should get the autofocus and all other features of the lens work on a K200D.
You may check it at the buy/sell section here in this forums, or at the Indian site jjmehta . You may also post your requirement in the informal groups like the ipentax gmail group.

Thank you Adam, yes I knew that eventually you will come to help me, but I could only find the link "contact moderator", did not see anything like "contact Adam(inistrator)". I thought the moderators will escalate it to you.
Again, I could not edit the feedback you left, there's nothing wrong in what you have left, just add "Purchased A 35-105/3.5. Thank you." as the additional note in the "more details" field. This will help me to trace what I purchased from whom.
Once again thank you Adam for the quick action; no wonder why everyone likes this forum so mcuh.

Hi,
I purchased a lens listed in the thread https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/photographic-equipment-sale/181148-sale-...n-adaptor.html
When I tried to leave a positive feedback the page gives the error "The deal URL is invalid!". But I did not fill the URL field on my own, rather I clicked "Leave feedback" from the page where the lens is listed for sale and it automatically filled in the URL field. The I filled all the other fields and clicked "submit". I contacted the moderator but he asked me to post it here in the help section. I am unable to figure out what's going wrong, because this is how I left all the feedback in the past. I searched it in the forum and found a couple of posts on the same issue but they did not help me. I still doubt if it is possible to solve it without the moderator's intervention. But I may be wrong; if any of you understand this riddle please help me out.
Thanking,
Sunil

I have an M 100/2.8 which is as good as any of the two 105mm super takumars I have. The only thing I miss in it would be a built in hood which some of the other M lenses possess.

Nice compositions and colors. M 100/2.8 is a very good lens, it produces sharp picture with good contrast, but for some reason it's underrated.

The Pentax site always used to claim about such service centres, but I doubt if they repair Pentax anymore, I am not aware of anyone who has availed their service. Call them and confirm before you decide, and please don't forget to report here if you find something positive.

Hi Swapnil,
I do not think that any serious malfunctioning of any of the Pentax cameras or lenses can be repaired here in India. I do not know if Pentax mount third party lenses can be repaired here or not. I am not a professional photographer but just a hobbyist. I use mostly manual lenses though I am not good at that. Two years ago I bought a Pentax k-x kit through one of my friends who was returning from USA. One reason was it was costing only half the price of an equivalent quality Nikon or canon system at that time. But I do not think the same equation holds now in case of K-5 and Nikon D7000. Most of us pray to not go anything wrong with our Pentax cameras and lenses, otherwise think that we can get it somehow repaired sending it to Singapore or somewhere. But I am not sure how practical those thought are. So if you are really worried about the availability of service here in India I would suggest you to switch to some other system. Otherwise if you are really passionate about Pentax I welcome you to be part of the small group here.
Thanks,
Sunil

Hi John,
If you do not mind sending it to India, I would like to take both the 50mm macro and the 50/1.4.

I have two copies of super-takumar 105/2.8, one manufactured in 1964 and the other in 1969. Both the lenses behave almost similar except in their color rendering, may be due to the difference in their coatings. I also have a copy of M100/2.8. In my experience M100/2.8 is as sharp and as good as the super-takumar 105/2.8. I think the takumar is considered to be same as the K 105/2.8 except for the coating. K 105/2.8 is a very highly rated lens. But I wouldn't spend more money to but K 105, if offered at the same price I might prefer M100 over K 105 in favor of its size, its weight and its filter size.
I have no connection with the seller, and have no intention to help the seller, but thought of sharing my opinion and just my opinion about the little cute lens being sold.

Oh... it's a learning that there are Pentax preset lenses on K mount. Thanks Pepe.
That's what exactly I was thinking seeing this lens initially, if it has that second aperture ring it could be used in Av mode at any aperture unlike the normal K/M lenses. That would have been very convenient. I wish if all the K/M lenses had that feature... :p
