Happy new year everybody!
I have been a forum newb for a little while now and I am finding it a little difficult to search for and narrow down a topic. For instance I typed "christmas" into the search bar and saw a couple results where there was only one picture per post. What I really want is to see all pictures of christmas lights on the forum. Sorry for whining. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Wow, 3000 is alot. I would go for more like 300! In my opinion quality is better than quantity when it comes to wedding pics. I'm not a wedding photographer but I recently got married and there were alot of redundant pics. and 300 pics is enough to bore anyone:)

Look in your manual for "use aperture ring". It should be one of the last items in the custom menu. Once you have activated this feature the lens should work. Keep in mind that you will pretty much be in full manual mode and the metering on the camera may not tell you much so you will have to experiment. I have a KX but I know someone who uses a istDS and he uses an old pentax manual focus-m lens and it works great.
Hope this helps, good luck.

I think this is true because I have a KX and have never noticed any noise (audible noise that is). I just picked up a used K100D and noticed that on relatively long exposures (.6 second) I hear a weird noise. The noise went away after turning off shake reduction. I tried this a few times so that must be it.
Hope this helps. (and I hope nothing is wrong with the camera I just bought:)
