Sounds like a possible failure of the shutter. Can you take a long exposure photo (let's say 10 seconds) and see the sensor through the front of the lens?

Yes, that is what originally sparked my interest in these ... I would be good to know whether the optical quality at least matches that of the "DHG Super" models.
Amazon does list the "PRO" filters as multicoated, however I could not find any mention of these on marumi's website ... are ex-pentax marketing guys working there now :D

Here is my friendly comment regarding the newer lenses being 100000x better ... not. If they were indeed, 40 year old lenses would fetch 100000x lower prices ... which they do not.
Zooms aside, most vintage lenses (Takumars, for example) in 28-200mm range hold their own against their modern counterparts.
Vintage zoom do, however, suck (for the most part, anyway) in my experience.

1. A couple - Uber-rare Takumar 100mm f/3.5 in m42 mount (just sold to a forum member), Canon FD 50mm f/1.2 in PK mount, Nikkor-H 85mm f/1.8 in PK mount
2. Most DA- lenses (exept the 15/40) and most zooms/stove pipes. Building up for film/full-frame.
