Wonderful collection of advertisements of Pentax cameras and lenses. But, unfortunately thereīs nothing about the best and most advanced film AF SLR camera from Pentax, which in my oppinion is Pentax Z-1p .

I had the same problem on my first acquired second hand LX in 1999 . Finally the initial dent in one of the curtains evolved in a hole, and the pictures obtained have a white zone ( as a non exposed zone ) in one of the corners . I am afraid that in your LX could unfortunately happens the same.
Finally iīve sold mine very cheap in e-bay as a " for parts " item.
My actual LX, also purchased second hand in 2005 , is the last version , and the curtains are perfect. But none of them were LX Titanium.

Youīre right again. According to the ownerīs manual of Pentax K-3 , the wireless shot itīs only possible with Pentax flashes AF 540 ( I and II ) and AF 360 ( I and II ). Therefore, when I am using the Godox TT350 P and the K-3 , my sequence is as follows : 1.-First, set the camera built in flash in " Master " position, and at the same time set the output power of the built in flash . 2.- Set the shot to "single" ( donīt use 3sec.retard and the others , since doesnīt work ) 3.- Set in the Godox flash, the mode M and the output power desired 4.- Set in the Godox flash , in the position "slave " , the option S2.
With this method ( and a lot of trial and error ) , I am able to shot both flashes simultaneously .

Youīre right, channel S2 in the Godox Flash is just an optical trigger, but anyway you are able to set in the camera , the power output of the buit in flash .

As explained by Password 1234, the channel is set on the controller, not in the camera, and you donīt need any trigger. In fact, I own a flash Godox TT-350P and have used it as remote with both the built in flash of the K-3 and K-10D. Before use it , I have to set in the Godox flash the channnel S2. Afterwards , when you shot, both flashes ( the Godox and the built in flash of the camera ) fires simultaneously.

From your list, I have and use K 135 f/2,5 and FA 135 f/2,8 , both with good results for landscapes , even though is not my main use of such lenses. Also , as Christian Rock mentioned, the zoom ( manual, not AF ) A 70-210 f/4 , is in my oppinion a good lens for landscapes as well as the Tamron AF 70-210 f/2,8 ,. The last one with a very good sharpness , but quite heavy lens.

The eyecup of my PZ-1p was broken , two ot three years ago. My solution was to use the eyecup of my Pentax K-1 ( it fits perfectly on Z-1p ) or the Magnifying eyecup O-ME53 , which also fits perfectly in Z-1p.

Yes, I have one of my A 28f/2 , and shall try to provide some measurements , but unfortunately donīt have the necessary equipment ( gauge ) . But try to give you approximate measures , which are :
1.- Rear part , a circle of 50 mm. of diameter where are two clamps ( one above and the other down ) that must be pressed to attach the hood in the front of the lens .
2.- Front part : Itīs like an octagon ( eight sides ) but with following restrictions : upper and down sides : 50 mm. length / right side and left side : 50 mm.length. The other four sides ( i.e. the corners of the octagon ) are not exactly straight, but with a shape similar to a circle arch.
3.- The distance between the upper and down sides is approx. 60 mm., while the one between the left and right sides of the octagon is 70 mm.
4.- The lenght of each of the 4 corners( not straight ) is ca. 17 mm.
5.- The total depth of the hood is ca. 23 mm. with a complicated shape , from the outer octagon to the rear part which has the circle with the clamps.
I think , should be better if you can provide to me your e-mail adress and I can send some pictures from above, from the back ,and from the sides , that can be more esay and comprehensive.
Regards

One vote more for Pentax KX. While my black KX is still in perfect working order, my MX has problems with the LEDīs , therefore it needs a CLA .

I,ve got my Z-1p in year 1999. In my oppinion itīs was very advanced for the moment, and mine itīs still working very well. Only two things Iīdonīt like of Z-1p , the cover battery compartment ( seems very fragile ) and the type of battery used, since 2CR 5 battery is rare and expensive. However, up to now, we never had any problem with the camera.

From one of my homeīs window, at night , the ship in the shipyard , the pier and the surrounding industries , showed a fully set of different lights. Iīve used my K-1 mounted on a tripod and my trusty SMC K 135 f/2,5 together with the Pentax remote control F . ---------- Post added 16-12-22 at 18:40 ---------- Best regards/ jopenmx

Iīve got my Tamron 70-200 f/2,8 ( new ) 6 years ago in 2016. My copy is the old model SP AF 70-200 F 2.8 Di LD ( IF ) Macro . This model started on 2008, and production ended in 2018 according to PF . Therefore today it can be considered an old lens ,( without stabilizer and HSM among others ) , but still today in my oppinion itīs a very good lens which have used in my K-3 and K-1 , and never had a problem of dark corners. The sharpness is very good and the colours saturated and pleasant.

Also a little bit longer, with a 42 mm. f/1,7 ( with 7 elements ĄĄ ) but one of the best rangefinder cameras produced : Olympus 35 SP , with possibility for spot reading system for back light control.

I have used my old AF-280 T safely with K 10D , K-3 and K-1 cameras , without problems , except for the limitations of the own flash, since the better option is to use it in the auto modes of the flash ( green and red ) or manual. Of course, the AF-280 T is not a p-TTL .
Enclosed a link where some advices about the use of the AF-280T on a Pentax K-5 are described . Among them , the better modes to fix in the camera . Pentax AF-280T Use and Settings Suggestions – PhotographyBanzai.com |

No doubt about the quality of FA 31 ltd. as AF faster alternative . Beside this, Iīve found some reviews of the K 28 f/3,5 in the net , and two different guys have the same oppinion in comparison with different 28 mm. lenses , one from Sony , 28f/2 and other one is Distagon 28 f/2,8. According to these tests , K 28 f/3,5 outperforms the other two lenses concerning its exceptional flare resistance and CA correction. I think itīs amazing for a lens produced only for two years ( 1976 and 1977 ) Ą https://www.apalapse.org/blog/review-pentax-k-smc-28mm-f35 Review: Pentax K SMC 28mm 1:3.5 - phillipreeve.net |

If you look for a manual Pentax lens, I would recommend searching for K 28 f/3,5 , which think is widely accepted , even nowadys , as one of the best 28 ever produced . I own my K 28 f/3,5, since many years and still today use much more than my others K 28 f/2 and A 28 f/2. K 28f/2 is a wonderful lens (specially for the close up as other have said before ) but is very expensive, big and heavy ( 425 gr. ).
Other possibilities beside Pentax are Kiron, Vivitar ( specially the close-up items made by Komine ) and Sigma.

I own K 55 f/1,8 and A 50 f/1,7. Both are excellent manual lenses , but the build and handling of K 55 is miles ahead the other one. But of course K 55 hasnīt A position in the aperture ring , therefore you must use the green button .
If you prefer and AF lens , I would recommend F or FA 50 f/1,7. Both are stellar performers, concerning sharpness, colours, etc , but without the charm of a "K " lens.

I agree with redbirdpete: my first choice should be my wonderful Z-1p , it was my first Pentax camera ( coming from Nikon ) , very advanced for its time and yet in perfect shape and order , after 22 years.
As a manual camera ( not AF ) , i would choose my LX .
