'buyer beware' sticky for dishonest/unpaying members?

seriously though, besides the username, items sold and value what else does anyone OUTSIDE of the transaction really need to know? the e-mail address and location of the scammer, maybe? these are things we can find in the individual's feedback, which means starting threads about scammers is...totally useless, catty and in bad taste.

I saw the sticky and think it'll prove valuable to all members, present and future. I will stow the attitude, along with my carry on baggage.

that's a great idea, to keep people with little or no posts elsewhere from attempting to scam in the MP.

and since you missed it, here's the thread that's sparked all this:

thanks for clarifying!

i think a sticky would be more effective, one that can be updated with members that participate in fraud or scams.

for the marketplace forum, to notify other members of known fraudulent transactions by dishonest members. i think it's a must if situations as such ever arise, to let others know in a non obtrusive manner.

i'll sit back and wait for the negative repercussions. : popcorn : i still totally disagree with your gossip thread and hope everyone SOMEHOW feels better once they get the scoop on the situation...you know, because that somehow matters to everyone...somehow. a sticky is always better in situations like this, i hope all the forum noobs will understand that someday. your 'community' is not small and your 'friends' aren't always going to be honest, truthful or even the people they say they are.

stop being so naive, all of you guys. no, you know what? keep being naive, it supplies much comedy for people around the e-world on other forums being linked here everyday. keep it up!

why is this thread open, what's the point? it obviously doesn't involve anyone HERE except two potential buyers and a seller. this is trouble and letting everyone give their two cents will prove erroneous in the end on the moderators side.

the solution? a 'buyer beware (insert "shady" member here)' sticky at the top of the MP forum to inform other members they have/can/would conduct bad business practice(s).

Starting a thread for members totally unrelated to the situation to be in on the high school drama is total BS, shame on the moderators for leaving this open.

i agree with j. scott, most come off a bit boring, not that the subject matter or the composition is necessarily bad, it was just hard for your pictures to evoke any sort of emotion in my mind or heart, know what i mean?

i like the b&w of the guy, but his hand looks REALLY uncomfortable which makes me REALLY uncomfortable.

thats a good shot, but your silly smiley faced sig ruins it for me, especially because it's overlapping the subject, also i think a tighter crop on the left side (to even the distance between the edge of the moon and the edge of the photo) would benefit the final picture.

got mine this afternoon and went out shooting with it all night. it works perfect for what i need it for, standing a good 10 feet away (in the dark) down a flight of 15 or so stairs it was firing just fine. :thumbs up:

here's a pic of what came today, seriously it had to have been at LEAST $4.44 for the envelope and postage, i really don't know how they're making ANY money on these.:lol::lol::lol:

did you guys eat a jai thai by any chance? they're a decent local 'chain' with a good happy hour and most serve food until 1:00am.

the seattle center area is great at night, with the carnival rides...tons of good shots to be had there.
