The was taken on a resent backpacking trip in the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Our itinerary had us headed directly into this storm to the next campsite. Luckily we missed most of the downpour and managed st set up camp just in time.

Problem solved, I downloaded the update from a different link. It downloaded as a bin file and worked perfectly. Ricoch's site downloads as a Application (.EXE) file, which I was struggling with.

I don't know what a bin file is. The fw update down loads as a Application (.EXE) file.

I am folowing the instructions found at RICOH IMAGING COMPANY website but when I turn the camera on while holding the menu button down with the sd card with the update, all I get is the current version installed.I have reformatted the card and re-downloaded the update several times with the same result. I did not have this problem with the k2000 .

I am having extreme difficulty updating the firmware in my k5IIs. I previously owned a k2000 and no problem at all updating this camera. What am I doing wrong??? :(
