I recently got the GR III because I wanted a capable, but compact camera to take around with me when I don't or can't carry around anything bigger. I've tried using the camera in my phones, but the IQ just isn't there, and I wanted a proper standalone camera.
And after having used the Sony RX100IV, RX1R II, Fujifilm X100, X100T, X100F, X70 and Leica Q in such a role, I've found the GR III to be perfect for my needs.

The 55-300mm is a very bang-for-buck lens for those looking to get something in the longer focal lengths: |

Cross-posted to another thread, but here's a photo taken with a K-7 + Sigma 400mm F5.6 APO Tele Macro, not a bad option for a AF 400mm lens: |

A couple from the 27/2.8 today. They say you don't know what you've got till it's gone, and that's very true for the aperture ring on the Fuji-X lenses!! All the other Fuji-X lenses I have owned thus far have marked aperture rings. I found when using the lens, what I really missed was being able to look down at the lens and know what aperture I have selected. Having said that, actually using the rear dial to change aperture wasn't an issue. |
