Could you post images of lenses, inluding the haze on 100mm?

I recently bought a PH-RBG equivalent lens hood for my DAL 55-300mm lens. It seems you have to take the hood off to store the lens. Does this hood fold in or slide in to the lens for easy storage?
Thanks,

Yeah, I was testing the blur caused by shake reduction system. I have tested it in daylight, but not very throughly, may have to choose better subjects that don't gloss over blur.
Thanks for the info on metering. I was wondering if it is metering. I had spot metering, which I changed to one of the other two. The spot metering itself didn't help, maybe because the metered subject changed.

Hi,
I am sorry, I don't have an answer. I am a beginner too, and when I use A 1.7, the camera doesn't recognize it. The shutter info is blank, the aperture (F) info is 3 hyphens. When you press the capture button, the camera doesn't fire at all, so no photo is captured.

Thanks for the info on flash.
I agree that it is better to use ambient light to test for blur. So, we can also infer that using flash reduces blur from photographer's hands. That's handy to know.
As for the wear marks, I think they were there in the packaged lens, before I put them on.
Sorry for loading the page with so many boring pics, but it was just to show a continuing sample.

Friends,
I was trying to test my 1 week old K-x for the blur problem For this, I set shutter to 1/100, and tried to take consecutive shots of metal and glass (on a ceiling fan). Since I was shooting in a room lit by a table lamp, I used the flash for all these shots. I could not find a blur problem, but the pics come out brighter and darker alternately. Have you an idea why the light profile changes from pic to pic? The only thing I can think of is amount of flash from pic to pic.
Thanks,
PS:
I noticed that both my kit lenses had usage marks in the plastic mount. Have you ever checked your lens for this? Would this be because of testing or maybe a used piece?

Thanks for the info. It seems Tamron 28-300mm (on Canon) has even higher score. Also, on the comparison tool, the 18-250mm has better resolution than 55-300mm, and is worse/equal in everything else. DxOMark - Compare lenses I guess, it is not unsafe to buy 55-300mm lens (except for need to change lenses).

I am very new to SLR photography. What is the weakness of an 18-150mm lens compared to a 55-300mm lens? I mean if they are made by same standards, is there an inherent disadvantage in 18-250mm? Thanks,

Thanks for your comments. I guess the creaking was just unpleasant.

Hello people,
Most reviews report good build quality of Pentax K-x. I ordered a white K-x, and it had creak on the battery compartment / right hand grip. I have returned it already. Has anybody else noticed creaking on their Pentax K-x.
Thanks,
