I am not sure if if believe the source... "The first casualty of war is the truth" as they say.

Try and filter out the propaganda in the news.

Apperntly the source was an un-named conact in N. Korea from a S.Korea Newspaper editor.

Sounds a bit silly to me.

Tar Sands Deathblow for the Environment

The US has to understand that whether or not the Keystone project gets approved the "Tar/Oil Sands" are still going to get mined. China is here buying up a lot of the stake.
(China's CNOOC buying Canadian oilsands producer - World - CBC News )
(China invests billions in Canada oil sands - Houston Chronicle)

There is a proposed pipeline that will ship the oil straight to the Pacific where it will be loaded on ships to send to Asia. (Northern Gateway Pipelines | Enbridge Northern Gateway Pipelines, Enbridge gateway pipeline, Enbridge Gateway Project)

The US has a chance to provide refinery jobs that pay really well and will help the economy where there are no jobs... Most Canadians don't understand why we send it down there unprocessed and would love to do it here. The problem is that we don't have a enough refineries. The Alberta Government has approved a new refinery built by CNRL and should be online by 2015.

The United States is lucky to have this opportunity to have have this bitumen shipped to them. The Iraq war has cost over a million civilian lives. Is that the choice of the American people?

I am new to the forum and I understand what you are saying. I was making my comment in jest.

I am sure there is alot more to this issue then I know. This forum seems to be a life for a lot of people and to take it away would leave a void.

The whole thing seems a bit silly to have a public tread about though.

Being a Canadian, I understand the bombardment of the Royal Wedding celebration. We are still under British rule. But what amazes me is the press that the event is getting State side...

Why is America paying so much attention to the Royal Wedding?

Just make sure what the FedEx Custom fees will be. I have been suprised a few times with out of country deals.

Also, Pentax Canada has a two year Warranty. What does Japan have?

Would you really try to save 20$ by ordering form Japan and not Prodigital2000?

I would buy from Mcbain. They priced matched Lenses for me.

Look at the Dunne & Rundle Price

body only price when purchaced
with any Pentax lens $1428.99 Sale $1398.00

body only price without lens $1458.99 Sale $1438.00

Mcbain Camera or Dons photo will not match Prodigitals price of $1279.02 becuase it is not a "store front" Store.

I would pay the extra $s for the service you get at Mcbain.

I then realized that Pentax is not even in the same class as entry level Nikons and Canons for focusing.

You are right. It was embarrasing. I didn't mention anything beucase I thought I had this great camera setup.

Now I still believe I have the best camera on the market today but Pentax, FIX YOUR FOCUS SPEED!

After Buying the K-5 and 16-50 star lens i loved it. but unfortunetly i quickly realized how slow it focuses in low light when my sister-in-law handed me her rebel. It focused instantly while the k-5 was searching.

K-5 take fantastic pictures in low light but the focusing is way to slow.

Are there any examples on the web of External mic being used with the K-5?

Distance is definitely a concern with a mic, especially when trying to capture a group activity in a loud gym.

I really don't know anything about microphones but I would like to have a mic that will cut down on background/side noise.

After video recording some church events with my K-5, I realized that I really need an external mic.

Are there any forum members using External mics? and if so what is recommended?

Are there mic settings for sensitivity or direction of sound.

I was reading one thread that the K-5 made a blip in the recording when up loaded to YouTube. I will be putting the videos on the church website but not with YouTube. Will there still be a sound blip?

I have been enjoying the content on DigitalRev. Lok and Kai make great Photography Comedy which is very different than most Photography videos. The only thing with Digitalrev is, they don't seem to believe Pentax exists.

Are there any other great camera websites out there that you guys recommend?

I like the guise the US makes by saying they are protecting the civilians. All I can say is look at their track record. Over a million civillians died in Iraq.

Why are the rebels already selling oil?

Why is NATO supporting the Rebels that fought against the US in Iraq?

This is not about the people and their freedom. Look at the genocide that is happening in other places in Africa right now. Is NATO or the UN there?

4 Weeks... Ouch. I just got off the phone with London Drugs here in Edmonton and they told me that wouldn't give me a replacement. I should have bought camera from Mcbains, But the sales guy said they would match anything Mcbains would do.

London Drugs just lost a customer.

Pentax Canada - Stain on Sensor

I finally got around to checking if there was a stain on my sensor. Unfortunatly, I found a bunch. After talking to Pentax Canada, They asked me to send it in. Do they fix the sensor in the body or send out a new body? And, my other questions is how long will it take to get the camera back in my hands?

They gave me the Pentax UPS Code so I don't have to pay for shipping.
