La Baule, France. I was quite morose after a negotiation, which went badly. I headed towards the beach in the evening to clear my head and saw a group of riders in the waterline. It was low tide so they were quite far away, but I started towards them hoping to catch them in the sunset light. Suddenly I saw these four girls on the beach having fun with the camera. When walking further this very calm group emerged in front. The situation was too good to omit, so here we are...
The riders and the horses? ... long gone and eh light was not that good anyway. Guess if I felt better afterwards.

I was taking normal production pictures at work before Christmas. The resolution always has to be the best possible and because exposure times tend to be long, I use all the normal methods to reduce vibration, which normally means using tripod or the Manfrotto Clamp and Self-timer with 2 second delay (the mirror pops up reducing camera shake. I have used the 2-second-delay since the times of Z-1, when it became available.
When I took the first picture, the camera started shaking uncontrollably - the SR had activated itself obviously in the mirror cleaning mode - although the Info screen told that SR was turned off. The produced picture would have won the first price in a competition of earth quake pictures. The phenomenon continued until I returned to normal mode with SR on. No problem thereafter.
I repeated the situation afterwards, but the fault was not consistent - sometimes it recurred, sometimes not. In normal conditions there still hasn't been any single problem, but what happens in that kind of situation is that an uncertainty starts creeping in ones mind: "What will happen, if the K-5 invents some new behaviour just when I should take memorable pictures of my grandchildren by the Christmas tree?"
Well, luckily the prices of the K-5II series had just plunged. Now I am an owner of a K-5 IIs, couldn't be happier. Everything is just as comfortable as before, even the flash works as unpredictably as it always does with Pentax. But the AF - its now really something.
Anybody else met with this kind of fault with K-5?

Bert,
the delivery will be from their store in Germany. So no problem.
Cheers,

Thanks a lot. Placed the order to Topfoto and expect a prompt delivery. Makes me wonder if I should start also learning Dutch.

I have been waiting for delivery of the battery grip to Finland since October. The Pentax Agent in Scandinavia, Focus Nordic, answers that they are waiting too, but Pentax does not even tell, when the next shipment is about to arrive. The situation seems to be the same with those on-line stores in Europe, which I have used earlier. Only AC-Photo claims to have it on shelf, but their price is outrageous.
Can anyone help?

The S/N of my K-5 is 3885582 and I have not found any stains yet. Last weekend I was out over three hours in -19°C without problem. The EXIF of last of the over 100 taken pictures showed camera temperature -11°C. I have a feeling that K-5 will become my longtime companion.
