I've been using the Vivitar on my ist DS for several years w/o a problem. Looking in the V manual I find no indication as to the trigger voltage. I'm not wanting to fry this really great camera so will put off trying it on the K5. Thanks for the comments.

I'm new to this so may be going in the wrong direction with my question. This looks like something I'll use often. I don't know why I haven't been all along.
Anyway - My new K5 arrived Monday and I'm being cautious. I have a Vivitar 730AFPX flash I used on my 35mm ZX-5N and later used on my ist DS with no problems. I contacted Pentax Chat who advised they have not tested the combination. In contacting Vivitar I discovered they no longer exist as Vivitar and apparently are not supporting older equipment.
Do you or anyone on the forum know anything about this flash unit and its adaptability to the K5.
