These shows can make a strong impression. I tried out the 645D when it came out in 2013, but after years of waiting purchased a 645Z in December(2022). Yes it's a little out of date, but works well with manual focus lenses so I've got like ten lenses for average of 200$ a piece. Image quality is outstanding, but I do miss focus on some shots and tracking birds is bit of a challenge even with autofocus. And as a bonus I picked up a film 645 camera and can get the full fisheye effect of the Arsat 30mm lens. Bendy fun! Stick with your SLR. There are some good aftermarket lenses for Pentax, as well as the native lenses. I have been very happy with my Sigma 35f1.4 Art and my Irix 15mm f2.4(for my K1 system)

I just got my 645 1st version, and it wound to the end on the second roll. First off, changing room not necessary - just take the film out of the camera and flip it over and you can wind it from the other end(#15>#1) You'll have to guess about how much leader to wind.
Second I think there is an issue with the S/C wheel function. In the S position it would only fire one frame, advance and then the shutter would be locked. Changing the setting to C allowed for the shutter to be ready with each exposure. Yea!
But when I loaded the film holder it ran to the end. So set the C/S wheel to S for loading and C for shooting(not what the letters mean, but oh well. Perhaps a different film back would solve all my problems too. Worth a try. Good luck to all. Can't wait to develop today's rolls!:)
Note: reversing the film didn't work with this camera.

Super Takumar 50mm f1.4 (8 element version) lens Asking Price
135.00 USD Item Location
Seattle (United States) Item Description
almost mint condition 8-element Super Tak 50mm f1.4- lovely lens for portraits with soft background - perfect focal length for aps-c sensors but will, of course, cover 35mm film or digital - protruding rear element is said to be an issue with Canon full frame cameras but OK with aps-c in Canon. Works great with Pentax film or digital and any of the mirrorless cameras from Panasonic, Sony, Fuji, etc. Are you the original owner of the item being sold?

Yes, I was using a battery grip for the first time with A series manual focus lens and after about a couple hours the mirror did its little dance and eventually stopped. I turned the camera on and off and it seems to be fine. I thought it might be the cold day - I haven't been shooting in 30degreeF weather much. I thought it was the shutter but no images were recorded.

I don't know if you will see this- perhaps way late, but I used to own and shoot a Neoca rangefinder- basic camera but really excellent optics and nearly silent shutter- at f11 you really don't even need to focus. FYI

About a year ago I realized I was shooting mostly Pentax lenses on my Canon DSLR and wanted to upgrade my camera. Lucky for me, first a K10d and then a K20d became available in almost new condition for a very good price at the local camera shop (Glazer's- Seattle). I have had similary good luck landing lenses. Recently I found a SMC-F 50mm f1.7 for 10 dollars at a yard sale in Tacoma. Not sure how many lenses I have now to fit this camera since it takes M42 as well as bayonet but here goes. Autofocus
Pentax/Tamron 28-200 f3.8-5.6
Pentax DA 16-45 f4 zoom lens
Takumar 80-200 f4-5.6 zoom lens
Pentax SMC-F 100-300 f4.5-5.6 zoom lens
Pentax SMC-F 50mm f1.7 prime lens Manual Focus

Pentax SMC Takumar 200mm f4
Vivitar Series 1 70-210 f3.8 zoom lens
I am sure I am forgetting about something here, but this is the majority of what I
have. As you have guess I shoot a lot of close-up macro work and some people and most recently birds as the 100-300 allow me to get close enough to photograph them. I have many pics on flickr at Flickr: sethtoaster's Photostream |
