Sport lens: to short with Sigma 70-200

I use my K5 and Sigma 70-200 2.8 HSMII for years now on the soccerfield, no problems at all. The 70-200 is a great sports lens and is hard to beat. I also do a bit of cropping but that is no problem with the K5.
A lot of soccer samples here:

Hi images for you,

The shots where not taken at the tour de france but a few days later in Holland. The track was only a few kilometers long so every two or three minutes they passed the finishline a great opportunity to take pictures. At the tourde france the riders only pass by once.

They come very fast towards you, difficult for the camera to keep track with the cyclist. So the K5 does a great job here.

Here some more pictures taken with the K5 and Sigma 70-200 HSM II. The K5 does a much better job than my old K10d. Focus tracking seems to be working. More action pics at www.dijkx.com

Here some pictures I took today with firmware 1.01. I'm still confused, because with these pictures my fine adjust was 0 and before my upgrade to 1.02 it was -10 (too high). Maybe that was the reason why I had such a blurry pictures with firmware 1.02 ??????

I did not test 1.00 but I was very satisfied with 1.01 (take a look at HOME for af-c test shots from the k5 and kr) but after the upgrade to 1.02 I had my doubts .

I have not tested it yet, but last weekend with firmware 1.02 I had a lot of pictures out of focus even static objects. With firmware 1.01 I was very satisfied with the af-c performance of the k5. I made some af-c test pics see (HOME).
The planning is to make some soccer pics this weekend I will let you know about the af-c performance.

After my upgrade to 1.02 I have my doubts about AF-C focus. So I want to check it in version 1.01. Can I downgrade the firmware in the same way as an upgrade ?
Thanks

k5 5 point AF-C samples

Yesterday I did some testing with my K5, Setup:

Tamron 90 mm 2.8 Macro lens at F4
AF-C mode
5 point selection
focus priority
1/1000
ISO 160

A skater coming towards me with more than normal running speed. I analyzed the pictures in " Photome" and I saw a number for " predictive AF" ? So Pentax does have predictive AF ??
The pictures are not all razor sharp, but most of them come close.
The last af-c test I did with my kr and Sigma 70-200 2.8. The results look a bit better maybe because of the Sigma 70-200 ???

Friday I returned my Kr and got myself a K5. After taking a couple pictures I noticed that my picture number was in the 2000 ??? (new camera ?) later I downloaded "Photome" and looked in the Exif info, in the Exif info the shuttercount was 60. Does anyone know what the relation is between the picturenumbers and shuttercount ?

Thanks

Kr, do you have a problem ?

I did some testing with "your" method, I could not test at daytime because it's already dark when I'm home but did some testing with two different light sources, halogen and LED. I was surprised to see the differences in focus and I'm not very happy with the results. I did the same testing with my K10d and the results were much more consistent.
Front focus with halogen light and backfocus with LED light I wonder how I can ever make a sharp photo in tungsten light ??
Does anyone has the same experience with his Kr ?

My Kr makes a noise (grinding sound) when in live view mode, It's not too loud but you can hear it within 10cm from the camera.
Is this normal ?
