Super Takumar 50mm f1.4 (8 elements) a Jewel used by others but Pentaxians, why?

I was checking Flickr's photos and found that most of the photos posted taken with the Super-Takumar 50/1.4 (8 elements) lens are taking with cameras other than Pentax, why is this? Have Pentaxian abandoned their roots, or the original gems? I intend to used them more and more. Do you have one, do you use it on Pentax cameras?

I have always wanted to do that, but I think I found the formula to do not worry about N development, or about developing pulled and pushed film. I do stand development, but with this variation: I use Rodinal, and I only put in the jar 3.5 mL of Rodinal per 35mm roll. Then fill the tank with distilled water.3.5mL is all the developer a 35mm roll needs. In the tank, I can put to different rolls, shot at different ASA, or EI. Temperature does not worry me either. I pour the developer and stir for 1 minute and leave it alone for 60 min, or more (since the developer is exhausted, there is no overdevelopment). So far, everything came perfect. I read this somewhere in the internet, and the guy did not recommend this for negatives that will be wet paper printed later on. The sample below is Ilford XP2 400 (a C41 process film) done this way.

Helios 44-3 MC 58/2 - The Best Kept Secret

I was trying to add my review of the Helios 44-3 lens, but I could not find it in the lens review forum. I found couple of short discussion, but not worth resuscitating. So, I am creating my formal review of this lens with the purpose of making Pentaxians aware that I found this lens to be the BEST of the Helios 44-Series. I got all of them with exception of the Zenith 44-6, and most of them broke while in use, or the quality of the image was not really worth keeping. I kept the Helios 44-3 because i do believe it is a great lens, comparable to the Takumar 55/2, and sharp wide open, while the bokeh reminds me that of the Sonnars.

The construction looks sturdy, it is a big lens relative to the other 44-series lenses. There may be several models out there, but the one I have, which I like, was not designed to fit Pentax, but another camera. So, the focus ring, which is closest to the camera protrudes about 2mm and does not allow the screw mount to get into the camera. This is a small piece of cake to fix by someone curious and with mechanic ideas. You can unscrew the focus ring (4 easy screws), remove it and mill the approximately 2mm protuberance from the ring to make sure it flushes with the mount. I do not have a milling machine, so, I sanded off and filed off the best I could, and since I am used to do that with wood, the sanding came just perfectly fitting on my K5, and now on my K3. The result is just great, this lens is worth getting it.

I will not comment on the color, IQ, sharpness wide open, etc, because I will post photos, and remember: one image is worth 1,000 words.

Here is the process I used to fix the lens, just check the photos. I will show the original lens, then step-by-step process on how to fix it. You will also see the couple of tools you will need:

I recently got a Pentax LX and am still learning what it does. Here are some shots on Ilford XP2 400. I developed it in Rodinal stand development, 50min. I used yellow and orange filter in some of the shots. Not sure which ones.

Very nice Tuco, I love the MF square format. The two pics below were made experimenting on a new film that came in the market (in fact it is an old film factory that was shot down years ago: Ferrania in Italy.), the Ferrania P30. I got my first roll developed and I was not happy, so I posted four or five pics on the MF forum asking for advice on what I did wrong, and what do you think? Two of those were picked up by Flickr's EXPLORE yesterday and I got over 4K views on one. Here they are:

Those were shot with a Leica M6. However, I just finished developing the second roll taken with the SPotmatic F. I will post those tomorrow. Comments are welcome.
