I just found the Auto setting on the lens! Thank you twenty million times.
RJB--thank you also. Now if I can just find my manual (I use the Magic Lantern manual as I find it much more understandable and useful.)

OK. I set the focus button to AF-S, but it's still flashing the F--. Where should the top button on the left be set?

I just caught the error--yes it should be Fa50 1.4.
I will try switching it to auto. Thank you so much.

I know this isn't technically a DSLR lens, but it was my understanding that I could use this lens on my K20D. But darned if I can figure out how to use it. I've set the camera on Manual and set the fstop based on the distance, but I just get a flashing F-- when I look through the viewfinder. Can anyone help, please. No, I'm not a newbie, but I sure am an amateur at using anything other than specifically DSLR equipment. I've looked through my K20D manual and can nothing that's helpful.:(
Any help is appreciated

Well, actually Renton, but no one has ever heard of Renton, so I just say Seattle.
I'm on my 3rd Pentax. Can't remember what the first was, but then i got a K10D and a year ago I got a K20D, which I like very much. I am disappointed, however, that the extra 4 MP don't seem to add that much to ability to crop and still get a clear photo.
I still have lots to learn, and for the past 6 months have been too busy to devote much time to photography, so I've been very frustrated. Guess I just have to make time--at least that's what everyone says.
I'm glad to be on the Forum and will visit frequently.
