The price was good, but I'm already thinking maybe I should have just purchased the single lens or body only kit for under 500 and put the extra on an 18-200 lens. All in all though, we're talking maybe 100 difference in price and I now have two lenses while I familiarize myself.

I've been watching several cameras for a while and had been leaning toward the Kx. About a week ago I spotted an 18-55, 50-200 kit for $549 and jumped on it. That seemed like a tough deal to beat and now that it's arrived I've been attempting to size it up and and purchase accessories.
I bought it kind of sight unseen after weighing the pros and cons vs a Nikon D5000. I was worried about the grip with the compact size of the Kx, but coming from a Panasonic FZ20 it feels alright and should be beneficial for travel. It's a lot heftier than expected, but I like it as it gives a solid, not a toy kind of feel.
This sight looks to be a great information source and I just wanted to say hello as a new Pentax fan.
