I think that a third party 15-30 or something like that would be very much appreciated since the Pentax one is so expensive. Are there any news?

Greetings from Greece.
I have an issue when I use my new K1 with my sigma 170-500 APO DG lens.
The lens works fine through the whole focal range when I aim to a close object (20-30 meters) but it won’t focus when I aim to a long distance object. This happens to both auto and manual focus. The focus ring reaches the ∞ symbol but won’t focus.
I had the lens checked to an official sigma dealer and he told me that he tested it with two crop bodies (K5 and K7) and it worked fine.
My camera works fine with all the others lenses I own.
Could it be a compatibility issue??
