Thank you everybody. The firmware update fixed my problem.
Now I just need to figure out how to update the firmware on my 5 V6's that I have. I keep on getting a Error 43 when I try to update them.
Thank you

So I've been working on using the AF540FGZ Flash (I), Cactus II HSS Trigger and K1 to take some pictures before the wildflowers go away. I've ran into a issue. Once I have the flash/trigger and K1 sit up and take a picture, the flash will only fire one time until I cycle through the modes on the flash and then it will fire one more time then I have to go through the whole thing again. And this happens in PTTL and Manual modes. And the flash and triggers have fully charged Eneloop batteries and there is at least 15-20 seconds in between shots and I don't hear the flash still recharging for another shot. Any idea of what the issue might be?
Thank you for any help that can be offered. Tomorrow I'll dig out another AF540FGZ that is in my closet and see if the same thing happens.
Thank you

Thank you all for your thoughts. You all have given me plenty to think about.
One thing I was wondering is could I use the 50-500mm in catch in focus mode made by taping the auto focus contact on the lens and/or camera?
Thanks

So I have a EX-Sigma 70-200mm 1:2.8 II APO DG Macro HSM the auto-focus is very slow and sometimes won’t focus at all and a EX-Sigma 50-500mm 1:4-6.3 APO DG that was dropped on my truck seat and quit focusing (nothing rattling around inside of lens).
I emailed Sigma and Marc said that they are both past their service life, meaning Sigma isn't making parts for these two lenses anymore. I'm starting to save up funds to get a Pentax DA 150-450 when I have enough.
What can I do with those two old lenses? Any suggestions and no I don't want to destroy them.
Thanks

I loved my Bigma, I used it for Motorcycle racing. But then in 2018 I dropped it on the seat of my truck and it has never focused since then. I tried the newer Sigma 50-500mm and it never got close to the quality of pictures (AF was too slow) that I was able to get with my Bigma. I sure wish I could find someone who could fix that lens.

This was taken at Fountain Creek Nature Center yesterday using a Pentax K-1 and a Sears 28-80mm manual lens. I was also using a 10 stop ND filter. The shutter speed was 66 seconds and I thought it looked better in black and white. Hope you all like it.
This next one was take at Fountain Creek Nature Center also using the same equipment but the shutter speed was 164 seconds.
Thanks

So I'm looking at developing color film and someone suggested the app Labtimer but I'm unable to find the app for Android. Does anyone know if this app is still available and if it is for Android devices also?
Is there another app that you use while developing color film to help with times on developing and stuff on film?
Thanks

I have a Pentax K1 and the Pentax AF540FGZ and I can shoot the camera at 1/1000 shutter and the flash attached will fire. I'm wondering if I attach the flash to the camera using a hot shoe cable (off camera shooting) would the camera still think the flash is attached to the hot shoe so I can still shoot at 1/1000 shutter speed?
Thanks

So how does the F*300 F/4.5 compare to the DA*300 F/4 image quality wise? I shoot motorcycle racing and wildlife and I do sometimes use the DA*300. But was wondering if the F*300 would be a step up from the DA*300.
Thanks

Hello everyone, I have been given permission to photograph a event called "The Street Breakfast" it is a fund raiser for military families here in Colorado. So anyhow, it looks like I will have access to a building looking of the street intersection where this is going to happen and I was thinking I would try a timelapse series of shots from 11 p.m. Tuesday night till about 9-10 a.m. Wednesday night. Now I will be using my backup Pentax K3 with my Tameron 100-300. I have the battery grip with extra battery for the camera. But I'm needing help on determining the length of shots and how much time between shots. I will be turning off any and all noise reduction in the camera. I do have 2 128 gig cards to put in the camera to capture these dng pictures on. I'm wanting the time lapse to start with the empty intersection, then with the volunteers putting out the haybales in the interesection, then with the folks setting on the hale bales eating breakfast and then when the intersection is being cleaned up afterwards. While this is happening, I will be walking around taking pictures with my K-1 and Sigma 70-200 2.8. So the K3 will be all by itself.
If someone can help me figure this out I would greatly appreciate it. This will be my very first time lapse.
Thank you
Jim

I first emailed them about mine and they flat out told me "no, your lens is too old to work with the modern day digital cameras". After several people from here told to me to call Sigma and talk to some one that is what I did. And told the Sigma person the specs on the lens and he told me "oh yes, there is a K-1 update that we can do" and he gave me the link to the form I needed to fill out. Funny thing is the person who emailed me is the same person I talked to on the phone. I would call them with all your lens info in front of you and talk to them. The worst they could say is no.
Good luck with your lens.
