Tossing a few of mine in on this thread now that I am again a K5 shooter, having recently sold a Nikon 7100D to be back with Pentax again! |

I would get closer and focus in on just one piece of the rigging. I kind of like the area with the hanging blue rope. As others have said, I think there is too much here for there to be a true "subject" of the photo. A little rigging and rope tells a story too, particularly if I am up close and seeing it in detail. As I - a non-sailer - see it, I've got ropes and masts and dingys and deck "garbage" and water and sky and booms and steel buckles and ladders and cloth and... Get close and show me that worn rope and weathered pully and you've put a story in my head!

For the color image, I would suggest pushing up the lows and mids on the green curve to pull out some of the magenta. Don't know what software you are using so I can be specific about how. Most products, however, should allow you to control the RGB curve as well as each color of the RGB curve. Up with green means down with magenta and you should get better skin tones out of it.
Hope that helps.

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing Item for Sale
K-5 + DA*16-50 & DA*50-135 Asking Price
2300 USD Item Location
Syracuse (United States) Item Description
CAMERA: Pentax K-5 - $550
LENS: SMC Pentax DA* 50-135 2.8 ED SDM - $1,000
LENS: SMC Pentax DA* 16-50 2.8 ED AL SDM - $750
Pentax K-5 includes the additional battery grip and a second battery. The K-5 also includes a KatzEye focusing screen with their OptiBrite treatment ($160 value). I will also include the original focusing screen. Condition of everything is very good - minor cosmetic issues from use.
The K-5 has two minor issues: The lens release button popped out like it has for many other K-5 owners. I fixed the problem with a small piece of black tape and it's never bothered me again. Last I knew Pentax was repairing this for owners if you wanted to have it serviced. Secondly, during a complex contortion to get the shot, I accidentally scraped the eyepiece against the corner of a wall. It rubbed through the rubber and left some scrape marks on the frame of the eyepiece (nothing on the glass). Pictures of both issues are found here.
Everything works just fine. Lenses are awesome! As you can see, they are some of the best glass available for Pentax owners!
I am very happy to answer ANY questions anyone might have.
Thanks!

I'm not sure pulling more detail from the grass would be all that helpful. You are too far away from it for that to make a difference. I would suggest a crop that takes some of it out as I don't feel it is really the primary subject of your image.
Perhaps something like the attached (although I might have cropped a bit too much of the grass).
