I used to have a raynox 150 with da 55-300, then "upgraded" to a dfa 100 macro.
I think i had more fun with the raynox combo, first, it was cheaper, second, at 300mm offer greater magnification than 1:1 and third, i never knew macro lens loss a lot of light at 1:1, so most of the time i had to use the flash. But the macro lens is super sharp.
Here a couple examples
Da55-300 with raynox 150
Dfa100
obviously this is not a scientific comparison, but you get an idea

Well, today DXO has dissapointed me (and somehow Pentax by the way).
i was taking some pictures to a 9 months pregnant woman and stupid me, i decided to use the bounce flash, but i forgot to turn off the secondary reflector in the metz 52, result? a lot of overexposure pictures, almost one and half stop in some of them
i have tried to recover with DXO but the posterisation effect in the burned areas was nasty.
Luckly, lightroom 4 came to the rescue. i have recovered almost 100% of the overexposed pictures, with minimal posterization effect.

i have used DXO for a couple of day and i cant get used to "smart" exposure, it consistenly underexpose most of my pictures, to solve this i have created a couple of preset with no exposure compensation or center weight, which in my opinion es more reliable en most pictures.
In the other hand, the dxo lighting seems superior to version 7 and the auto noise reduction its look less agressive, so i think i will buy it this week

Thank you very much, i have changed the slave mode and now is working correctly again, except the modeling light, it doesn't work like before.
also, i am almost 99% sure that i didn't press the light button the 2 seconds requiered to change the slave mode the first time.
something i forgot to mention, before this problem, the flash stop working, so i thought that the batteries was empty, but now i have recharged it and it took only 1 hour, so something else happen yesterday
Anyway, i really apreciate your advice

Hello
I have this issue with my af360 flash, suddenly, after changing batteries i have noticed that i cant select pttl on wireless mode, i can only cycle between manual and auto mode, beside changing the batteries (enelooop) nothing else has been changed on the flash and in the camera, also the modeling test button now flashes a lot more slow than before, like 4fps.
this mean the flash is dying?
what good alternative on flash do you recomend?
thanks in advance

yes, use photome and search for af adjustment section.
but, my dxo 7 remove that metadata, so look in the original raw files or in camera jpg

Do some test, take a shoot using liveview and another with phase detection. If both are similar then there is no need for adjustment, well at least that the way i do.
Also, download dxo trial, it does wonders with my raw files, specially from my da 55-300

thank you.
i will give another chance to the dfa100 then.
i tested the aperture blade lever (?) in the mount and in every other lens the lever move easy and close really quick, but in the macro the lever feels really tight and when i released it took almost a second to close, so i guess the camara could not completely close the aperture then i got a overexposed image

Hello
sometime ago i noticed that many of pictures with my dfa are overexposed, especially from 5.6 and above, so i did a quick test using av mode and i noticed that every photo above 5.6 overexpose being worst on smaller apertures f11 f16.
I have checked the aperture blades and i noticed they close very slow in comparision with every other lens i have.
Luckly i can return to amazon for a refund, but here is my problem
is this something common with this lens? i want repurchase this lens, but being an amazon international customer is not a easy task return something when it goes wrong,
i was thinking in the tamron 90 macro instead
what do you think?

Thank you, i will try that.
But it's really weird that they changed the meaning of exposure

Just for fun.
Here are 2 pictures 100% crop (dfa 100 @2.8), both developed with dxo7. one with optic module loaded, one without it.
dxo7, with optic module, default settings
dxo7 without optic module, default settings, except unsharp mask (intensity 110, radius 1, edge 50)

I have used dxo for 6 months and now i like more than before. At first i didn't get it, when aplied negative exposure compensation, the image became actually brighter, then i realized that weird behaviour was because de dxo lighting hdr.
Until now, all my lens were not supported, but today has arrived from amazon my dfa 100 macro, i will check how much better are the picture with the lens softness correction module.
Also i have enjoyed the film simulation pack, but its expensive
