I took this with a Pentax SMC A-50mm 2.0, aperture mode, at f/11 using built in flash-blocking the background. Just for fun...untouched jpg |

I had this 16 year old boy ask me 'why u taking my picture' in a threatening way once... I hate snaping people for this reason. I use a momo pod, it to me, is a quicker setup and less clutter for day shots or street shots...

I found the K100D to be better now in detail than my old K1000 manual film, which took good pics. My take is after going digital is to learn the use of the 'Histogram' of the K100D. Before I was relying on it, my digital pics using manual modes were too bright and was full of PF.
This topic may have been brought up many times, but to me, it's a great tool in taking pics with a digital camera in manuals modes.:ugh:

As for Pentax and the lack of concern for their customers rebates...I have my 2 cents to add...
these posts are all picked up by major search engines and I do read them before I buy a product. I saw one post about rebate problems even before buying my K100D, but it was not this bad...just slow getting it.
If i do a Google search "pentax reabte problems" all these blogs come up, I would probably be the proud owner of different brand. I personaly received my rebate pretty fast btw,..
Pentax knows you bought the camera, but makes you jump hoops (us) to obtain it, they should do instant rebates....I am happy so far with my Pentax and rebates....Jim

The longer the exposure the more noise it makes, Try a time lapse night shot at 30 seconds, youll hear it big time after the shutter curtain closes, youll hear the noise as the picture is processing...

I and I'm sure a lot of other K100D and earlier users have smudges on their pics due to fine hairs, dust on the sensor. What methods are used here to get rid of the dust and hair etc?...I use a bulb blower, but it seems to become dirty very frequent rather than seldom...Jim
E.G. http://jimsi.com/pentax/pic654.jpg untouched jpg using a Pentax 28mm f2.8 fixed lens
The smudges are in the upper right and middle right, I blew the dust out with a ear bulb blower |

I know when I first posted this, I was talking about unanswered questions and blurred pics and or descriptions from seller. I just got a horrible rude answer from a seller when I asked about taking US Postal Money orders, he was very curt and uncaring, he said "NO WAY Thanks" I asked him to remove my bid and he did... He could have been a bit more polite, but I am glad I will not be dealing with him now. Ive been buying and selling on eBay for years and never been that short with anyone and I LOVE US POSTAL money orders as a seller... Pentax 50mm A SMC lens f/1.7 Excellent - - (eBay item 280171248654 end time Nov-14-07 15:12:27 PST) I posted his URL if interested...

The first is actually 1/400 shutter, but it shows that it is not a lens for action since it blocked some of the light.

The sky is very blue. I bought a cheapy and it caused autofocus problems on 200mm during the daylight, but I am sure it was the cheap price. Some say the images can be edited afterwards and others and myself, seem to think it is only good for brighter daylighted pictures and outdoors 'cause they block some of the light as well as introducing some distortion with an extra glass(the filter) I assume filters should not be stacked too deep or the non use of the cheaper brands...Jim

I have noticed a lot of lenses on ebay have had the worst pictures posted of the item. Having off focused pictures of a "Mint" lens etc" really makes you wonder"... I sometimes wonder about the descriptions and photo's if some people selling on eBay are honest or even know what they are really selling, if I had to give a percentage of HOT air sellers, I would say 20%...Just my Ramblings...LOL
