To me that picture looks like it's of an actual part, made with 3D printing technique. There are horizontal layers going through the print which to me seem similar than the ones our 3D printer leaves to the parts. The PENTAX text and lens are probably added after the picture is taken.

I don't want to go any deeper in the means (or pricing) of this camera, but I just have to say that it looks absolutely gorgeous, especially when paired with the 20-40.

SMC DA 15 for those lovely wide landscapes, DA35 ltd for vivid colors, landscapes and street shooting, and finally a Samyang/Rokinon 85 for those occasional portraits and nighttime shooting. I'm guessing you might squeeze just under 1k if you get the two first 2nd hand. And what's most important, the whole package is easily backpackable due to it's relatively low overall weight...
That's how I would do it, but then again, I'm a prime guy...

Just came in to see what's going on, sad to hear about Bruce, my best wishes to him and the family.
I haven't posted photos for a while, but I've taken them and just need to find the time. I'm in the middle of many things, but I'll try to post some maybe later today.

They should skip the silver and just make it available in black and the premium option should be zebra. |

I'm having same issues, and made the decision to push pics SOOC, or at most do some minor horizon corrections. Or whatever I can do with paint.net :D Good to see you posting pics though!

Ohh, what a beauty of a lens. Due to my limited time, I'll be mainly putting out shots SOOC, which is really the whole point of having a Q. I'll start with basic images, but hopefully will slide towards the filters and whatnots found in the Q's menu system. My personal favorite so far is the 1:1 crop mode with bold monochrome filter.

I'd wait for the first user experiences from the HD DA15, as it has the rounded aperture blades, which may lead to no starbursts... Not that I'm monetarily in a situation I could even think about upgrading my SMC limiteds :D

Q+01 I've had the combo for almost half a year now, and I've just snapped some photos with it. I think now's the time to see what it can really do. It's getting dark, so expect a lot of b&w conversions to avoid excessive noise.

How about a K10D? It has ISO100, hotshoe. and should fit in your price range. Just saw one on the marketplace asking for $180 including some spare batteries etc. Mine is still going strong, I'm the second owner and the camera is probably around 7-8 years old. Just make sure the shutter count is reasonable and you should be fine.

I just popped in to my flickr after a long break, and saw all those amazing pictures by you guys on my front page! Aapo, Matt. Joe, Rod, Pat, Jack, and everyone else whose names I don't even know! You've inspired me to take on another Single in... challenge! Thank you guys, and see you soon!

Just to let you guys know, my better half is visiting me and I'm trying to spend as much time with her as possible, so I haven't been posting pictures (or comments) lately, but I've taken a pic for each day, and will post them up along with comments when I get the time, probably at or after the weekend.

I can confirm that with the YN-560's at 7/8 power they can sync with the Q's on-board flash at 1/2000s. Full power they have no change of keeping up, but this is great news for all of my future experiments!

Whoa, I have to give this a go, I have two Yongnuos lying around and even though I haven't felt limited with the sync peeds, it's nice to know these things. If it works at 1/2000 at 80% it's actually really quite nice. I'll give it a go later this week when I have time!

Regarding the stitching software used on my day 7 image, as I pm'd to Kozlok I was being lazy and just dumped the pictures to Photoshop. I've been using the Microsoft ICE and also been happy with the results I'm getting from it. It lets you alter the way the images are being stitched, whereas with PS you have to import them all again... I didn't have it at hand this time, but I should download it to my currently used laptop.

Someone (Matt) asked what version of the 28 I was using, it's the M28 f/2.8... And regarding the bokeh on my day five pic, I was going to name it "How you like them five aperture blades now?"

Something they announce with each and every firmware update. Probably just general fixes for the code, solving problems inside the code that haven't caused any troulbes yet, or simply streamlining it. At least that's what I think :)

A Q6 would fit between the Q7 and K5... ;) However I don't think they're going to do that.

If I'm just goin around for a random walk, I usually take the 15ltd and 40ltd. If I had the dough I'd get the 77ltd as well, and that would be my perfect walk around kit. If I know I need a bit more reach I'll take the 50-150, but it's one heave piece of equipment compared to the ltd primes :D Oh yeah, and just a single K10D :)

I believe I mentioned in a comment posted on OzzRod's wonderful image that I too have a habit of taking abstract shots every now and then. This here was taken yesterday as I was deciding on which lens to tackle the month with. Like I said I think I got some pretty decent images, but wasn't really feeling too wideanglish.
As per my theme of the month so far, this one includes some heavyish postprocessing as well...
